A joint endeavor of the CCP, Film Development Council and the University of the Philippines Film Institute, the festival aims to give Pinoy filmmaking that needed “shot in the arm” by developing an exciting, new breed of Filipino filmmakers. Cínemalayà Awards seeks to discover, encourage and honor the cinematic works of Filipino filmmakers that boldly articulate and freely interpret the Filipino experience with fresh insight and artistic integrity.
