Hong Kong Tourism Board (HKTB) partners with Asian Food Channel, the region's only 24 hour food channel organized a media event at the Tin Hau restaurant, Mandarin oriental Hotel for a cooking demo and food tasting event hosted and conducted by AFC's Chef Bruce Lim and well-known singer, actress and chef, Maria Cordero, who’s also known as “Fat Mama Maria”.

The event is not only about food and cooking, this is to promote the upcoming Hong Kong Food and Wine Year this October 30-November 8, 2009. The partnership of HKTB and AFC involves online, on the ground and screen campaign across Singapore, Philippines, and Malaysia. HKTB will host a variety og celebrities and AFC's own stars to demonstrate the diversity of HOng Kong cuisine, the event here in Manila features Maria Cordero. The event will be covered by AFC and then broadcast it on their channel and online.

I was surprised that Maria Cordero revealed to us that she cook and fry food using only water, it was surprising technique and I know it is possible because I know someone can cook a certain food and fry it in water. Maria Cordero and with the help of Bruce Lim, showed to us this kind of prawn cooked in a different way, it was well toasted and added some crisp tasty feeling. I haven't pay attention as I was busy taking some photos at the event, but eat some and it was tasty.

That's a short teaser on what we can experience the Hong Kong Food and Wine Festival, we tried this super mix of wine by Maria Cordero, and the taste is very weird, combining different kinds of wine, honey and some mixtures, the wine changes into a tasteless alcoholic beverage, but with a little kick after it. We tried different kinds of food at the Tin Hau Restaurant, all I can say is that the food in HK is so delicious. It is my kind of food because I love eating Chinese style foods.
