Great news for all kiddies!!!!

PA061062

PA061063
Ok..time to recharge those wallets.. I think those Transformers Animated and other line up priced at a sale of P700, will be priced at P400 ( I saw a price of it in a local toy store inside a mall)

whoaaaa, toy distros are now wonky of the price drops.. here's the great advantage guys! buy some for your collections or buy some and sell it double the price in a local convention hahahahahaa ( just kidding). Not sure if I will have my new toy here, I'm still eyeing for Collecticon 2009, but must check this first.

btw, I'll be going to Megamall tonight, I just received a Bioman-alert text-like thing and it says "Gentlemen, we will have a meeting to discuss plans for the December Toy Fair"

5th Philippine Bird Festival-Balanga

5th Philippine Bird Festival-Balanga
October 9-10, 2009
People’s Center, Capitol grounds
Balanga City, Bataan

The 5th Philippine Bird Festival, the country’s largest celebration of avifaunal diversity and bird lore awareness, is set to take off on October 9 in Balanga City in Bataan. Balanga holds the Philippine record for hosting the largest concentration of wintering shorebirds from the Asian mainland and Japan.

The Philippine Bird Festival will mark the arrival from the Asian mainland and Japan of wintering shorebirds with the official dedication of the Balanga Nature and Wetland Park, the first protected wetland park in the whole Manila Bay area.

Themed Ibong Dayo, Kaibigan Tayo! (The Migrant Birds: Our Friends), this year’s bird festival aims to drum public support for the conservation and awareness of the Balanga wetlands, where more than 15,000 individual birds were on record during the Asian Waterbird Census in January.

The wetlands of Puerto Rivas in Balanga City attract one of the largest concentration of migrant shorebirds and waterfowl anywhere in the Philippines, according to the Wild Bird Club of the Philippines (WBCP), the country’s leading bird watching society and organizer of the Philippine Bird Festival.  ( Read more)

InuYasha – The Final Act unleashed same week as Japan across Asia on Animax!

here's a big surprise for all Inu Yasha fans!

InuYasha – The Final Act unleashed same week as Japan across Asia on Animax!

InuYasha – The Final Act premieres 10 October 2009
Airing Saturdays 8pm (SEA, PH, SA) / 7pm (WIB) / 7.30pm (HK) / 11.30pm (TW)
in the same week as Japan, first & exclusively on Animax

Five years on, after 167 anime episodes told the tale of timeless love between half-dog demon warrior InuYasha and time-travelling schoolgirl Kagome Higurashi on an epic adventure to a cliff-hanger, the curtains are finally drawn for the long-awaited conclusion of InuYasha…

InuYasha – The Final Act is set for an Asia-wide premiere within the same week as the series’ debut in Japan, first and exclusively on Animax! The brand new 26-part fantasy, action and romance anime series premieres 10 October 2009, airing Saturdays 8pm (SEA, PH, SA) / 7pm (WIB) / 7.30pm (HK) / 11.30pm (TW) on Animax, within just five days of each episode’s premiere broadcast on Japan’s Yomiuri TV.

Definitely the BIGGEST anime title of 2009, InuYasha – The Final Act will deliver the grand finale to the popular InuYasha franchise that has captivated fans the world over since starting as a manga series in 1998. The brand new series comes to Animax hot on the heels of the anime and youth entertainment network’s same-week-as-Japan broadcast of 2009’s most-anticipated title Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood, and world’s first same-time-as-Japan simulcast anime Tears to Tiara in April 2009.

Happy 1st Anniversary to Cavite Camera Club

DSC-0043pp
I just attended an anniversary gathering of photographers in Cavite City. It is the 1st year anniversary of the young and active group - Cavite Camera Club also known as CCC, as of now this is the known camera and photographers group in Cavite. The activity started in some introduction about the group, then election of officers for this year, basic photography workshop, and photo shoot with models. The day was full of productivity and creativity and each members shared their views in photography, professionals mentoring and lecturing to others. The day ended with a photo contest, were members asked to submit some photos of their photo walk or model shoot.

CCC is now one year old, and the new roster of officers and non stop incoming of Cavitenos who love photography and camera are heating up the whole city as the hobby or profession for photography will help promote and have awareness about the mighty, beautiful and awesome city of Cavite.

Película, the biggest annual Spanish Film Festival in Asia

It’s a triple treat for film buffs as Instituto Cervantes de Manila brings back Película, the biggest annual Spanish Film Festival in Asia, at chosen venues in Metro Manila from October 1 to 31.

Due to the past successes of its first seven seasons, organizers have doubled the number of films (this year more than 40!), gone from one to three venues and lengthened the film festival. Cultural events have also been calendared, in line with the theme of this year’s festival: Locos por el cine or Adik sa Pelikula.

With new partnerships forged by Instituto Cervantes, the cultural arm of the Spanish Embassy to the Philippines, and the strengthening support from Spanish filmmakers, last year’s attendance by cinema enthusiasts is expected to increase this year. Last year, some 20,000 spectators attended the Festival.

A day visit at Lopez Museum in Ortigas Center, Pasig City

PA019541
I've been hanging out in Megamall and Ortigas area, even work in ABS CBN years ago and exchange my pay check in BPI at the Benpress Bldg, then didn't know my girlfriend and her sisters stay there in the same building and didn't know that her mom issues the pay check to all employees. The big revelation came out after years I quit my job and then found out that Lopez Museum sits there for ages and I didn't even noticed it. I love going to museums and it sparked my interest during elementary days in UST where me and my classmates play as paleontologists and philatelist at an early age. Visiting museum in different kind is like going to churches, my passion for art, culture and science never stops even that I grow old. For this blog series I'm posting, its a feature all about Lopez Musuem.

I'm inviting everyone to check out their latest exhibit called "Double Take", the exhibit is still open and will end on October 10, 2009.

Double Take is an exhibition and feature of Lopez Musuem's collection of Hidalgo and Luna paintings, LVN films and stills, old world and Philippine maps, artifacts, Jose Rizal's letters and accessories,  and many more. Lopez Museum not only exhibit the classic and rich artworks of our national artists, but they also feature new and contemporary artist that contributes their artwork and style with the Double Take exhibit.

There are three sections of the exhibit
1.Double Take ( Hidalgo and Luna artworks and LVN films)
2.Coordinates (old maps )
3.Tutelage (text books from the American colonial and commonwealth period)

PA019475
It was a great experience being there for the first time, and we Filipinos should be visiting our national museums and other alternative spaces and venues that hosts and take cares of our own National Treasures. Lopez Museum is the nearest and most accessible museum located in the middle of the busy Ortigas Center. And I like to invite all students, researchers and art lovers to check it out. The exhibit will end this October 10 and will resume for a new exhibit on November. Check back also to my upcoming blog posts for features of the local comics, artworks and installation arts that is featured in their Double Take exhibit.

I like to post everything and all photos of the exhibits, but I will not spoil you for now, but invite you to check out the museum. It is easy to visit it, its across a street from Textite bldg.

Few days ago in some kind of lunch out, I just saw a preview image of the magazine's cover. I was so want to blog it, but not allowed to do it, after a few hours, I felt like an amnesia struck me, few days ago I began to think and recall who was that girl in the cover.. and then when I saw this video.. ahhhhh it was her!!!

How to take care and clean your flood damaged collectibles

ragnell's photo of water damaged comic books

This is a tip or some kind of advice on how to handle your collectibles, toys, comic books if they are damaged with flood waters. I know this is such a horror for all collectors and fan boys and looking at our precious items being damaged by Typhoon Ondoy and the unexpected flow of flood waters to our homes. The photo above is only a reference, but it's an example of a water damaged comic books that I found in Flickr. I just got lucky that my collectibles is stored in the 2nd floor of our house in Pasig, but  after cleaning the house few days ago, I saw a collapsible box containing lots of magazines and comic books. They are slightly damaged by moist and flood water, but I didn't dare to check it and kept it away, let's consider it that they are in the ICU of comics and toys clinic.

I have become a flood victim years ago, and it was a traumatic experience in the year of 2001 when I encounter a knee high flood water inside the house and in my bed room. Some of my comic book collections were submerged under flood waters and my toys too. Even my dvd player and VHS tapes weren't spared. And after cleaning my room, I did some things that are hmm effective in restoring some of my collections back to near mint condition.
