The country’s number one domestic airline, Cebu Pacific (CEB), is about to turn summer time around as the airline resumes flights to Caticlan, the premiere gateway to the beach paradise of Boracay. This coming March 28 will signal the start of their full operations, just in time for summer.

With 11 Manila-Caticlan-Manila flights and one Cebu-Caticlan-Cebu flight schedule, CEB gives the most number of airline seats to and from Caticlan.(more below)

After almost seven months of being absent in the Godofredo P. Ramos Airport’s runways due to the Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines’ one-way runway rule, CEB flies back to Boracay, offering their trademark great value fares.

“Now that Cebu Pacific is back in Caticlan, I expect that there will be more tourists. They usually book in advance, and take advantage of seat sales and airline promos just to get here in Boracay, and Cebu Pacific often gives them that option,” said Lupre Sacapaño, owner of Pat’s Bar in Station 2.

Another traveler and an international relations student, Jef Omolon said, “This is great news (for travelers) because Caticlan is the fastest way to Boracay. We can explore the island or hop on a banana boat as soon as possible with direct Caticlan flights.”

Adding to the good news of Cebu Pacific’s resumption of operations in Caticlan is the announcement that the country’s leading low cost carrier uses brand-new ATR 72-500 planes to fly visitors there. Cebu Pacific boasts of the youngest aircraft fleet in the country.

“Knowing that CEB uses brand-new planes to Caticlan keeps my family’s worries away. Vacations start the moment we board the plane, and we opt for convenient, affordable flights, with no compromise on passenger safety,” Omolon added.

On March 1, the airline will gradually reintroduce its Boracay (Caticlan) flights through the transfer of four Manila-Kalibo and one Cebu-Kalibo flights to Caticlan, a move that is meticulously paced for the re-certification of CEB’s ATR pilots on the Caticlan route.

“In as much as we want to resume our full Boracay (Caticlan) flights immediately, our main priority will always be the safety of our passengers,” Cebu Pacific Vice President for Marketing and Distribution Candice Iyog said in an interview.

“We are very happy we can once again open our Caticlan route to our Boracay-bound passengers. We hope passengers on our March 1-27 flights can support us in this transition,” Iyog said.

Passengers with the following flight schedules can call the Cebu Pacific reservation hotline (02) 7020-888 for Manila and (032) 230-888 for Cebu to get flight updates.
