The sports icons recently got together with Ginebra executives to formally sign their endorsement contracts that promise to pave the way for one historic campaign. Also renewing her contract is the pound-for-pound champ’s beloved mom, Dionisia, whose unusual wit and antics have earned her a permanent place in Filipino pop culture. They are expected to top bill Ginebra’s current “Ang Bida Naka-Ginebra” campaign, which was first launched in 2009 to the delight of fans of the liquor brand and the boxing legend.

“We have a dream cast in these three personalities. I know sports fans would be thrilled to see both of their idols in one commercial,” said Nelson S. Elises, Ginebra San Miguel, Inc. VP for Marketing. “It would also be interesting to see Mommy Dionisia mixing up her brand of humor in the dynamics of this dream encounter.”

Ginebra San Miguel is an 80 proof Dutch-type gin made from selected spirits and juniper berry extracts. It has been the Philippine’s leading gin since it was first produced in 1834, and is also now acknowledged as the world’s largest selling gin. Ginebra San Miguel is available in 250 mL Angelito, 350 mL Bilog , in 350 mL Frasquito , 700 mL Frasco., and in the new 750 mL Big J size.

The new endorsement comes on the heels of last year’s celebrated “Bida” advertisements, which also featured Manny Pacquiao and the then-debuting Mommy Dionisia. The ads drew high praise as they celebrated the admirable qualities exhibited each day by the "Bidas" in regular life.
