Yahoo! Philippines joins 2009 CNN Hero of the Year Efren Peñaflorida in annual gift-giving for students of Kariton Classrooms

MANILA, Philippines (December 23, 2010) – Last December 22, 2010 in Caridad Cavite, Yahoo! Philippines joined 2009 CNN Hero of the Year Efren Peñaflorida Jr. and his youth group Dynamic Teen Company (DTC) in their year-end gift giving celebration for students of the Kariton Classrooms. Every year, students of the phenomenal pushcart project are recognized for their dedication in helping their community while maintaining academic excellence. This partnership is in line with Yahoo!’s own year-end giving campaign How Good Grows, where Efren, or Kuya Ef as he is more fondly known, and the DTC help spread ripples of kindness by uploading their random acts of kindness in the How Good Grows website (www.ph.kindness.com).

It was an afternoon of fun, laughter and all-around happiness at the Club 8586 center as students played games and danced to Christmas songs. Toys and clothes donated from various sources were piled high in the center area and students were called to the front one by one to select their gifts. The top student leaders were given special introductions and were the first ones to be called to the front. The afternoon activity commenced with merienda for everyone.
