My wife told me that she got invite for the Yellow Party of SpongeBob Squarepants, during the week we are planning to attend a meet and greet with Dora the Explorer and Boots in SM Bacoor. I told my wife that we should attend with our son, and it will be a great collection of photos and event for kids that we attend for our baby boy. Planning ahead will save us more gas and money, so I let my wife do the itinerary and I was at another location covering an event 10 MRT stations away.
We entered the gate thru the press/media entrance and thanks to Stratworks for inviting us and its our first time to attend an outdoor event for kids, and we’ve been dreaming of attending a kid’s event like SpongeBob with our son, so we didn’t think twice and grabbed the opportunity. At the ground field of Bonifacio Global City in Taguig City, it was scorching hot and few days ago, I got tips from a friend who works at Bates (organizer of the event ) that we should line up starting at 1pm, because there will be many people and kids lining up even if the show will start at 3pm. She was right and when we arrived at 3pm, we saw a long queue of line starting from the entrance and going to the end of the half of the venue. The sun is so hot that time, I’m glad that Nickelodeon got those portable mist machine to cool down parents and kids.
We entered the venue and did some photo op at the photo wall, we checked out some booths and tried those free food tasting, I like the Goody Gulpy chocolate drink, and I’m glad they have that tasting event, I’ve been so curious about the taste when I saw its commercial at Nick Jr. We also toy booths selling Mega Bloks, Hotwheels and Barbie, I believe that’s the booth of Richwell Trading and next to them is the booth of Toy Kingdom. We have a water squirt gun in our loot bag and I realized that there’s a squirt station inside the event, so that kids and parents can play and squirt on each other.
Play area and having fun is free!, entrance is free so all you need to do is line up and fill up the form. There’s this giant inftable slide, photo booth, inflatable obstacle, SpongeBob game, and many more! It was fun day for kids, but for us, we just want to watch SpongeBob live on stage, and our kid is only 1 year old and he can’t try those giant slide and inflatable yet.
SpongeBob, Patrick Starfish and Squidworth showed on stage dancing, and we watch the show until the confettis were gone hahahaha. Kids and parents scramble infront of the stage just to watch the main cast of SpongeBob, kids and parents were shouting and we know that they are just mascots, but truly a star for kids and for us parents. After dancing, the trio went back and behind the stage and we watched a one hour games for kids.
We also watch a special mother’s day episode of SpongeBob, its about Plankton’s love for Mr. Crab’s mom. After some round of games, including the slime thing that was sprayed to anyone infront of it, I got slimed at the back and it smells like strawberry hahahaha. I got lucky that my camera was inches away from the spraying slime.
SpongeBob and friends went back on stage to dance for another round, it rain that time and we didn’t mind it, because kids are so watery eyed when SpongeBob showed up singing and dancing his song “It’s the best day ever!”
I carried my son infront of the audience area, we leave our seats and stood there with many parents and kids watching, the new comers were lucky to see SpongeBob at the end of the show and never have to wait for another hour. Next year, we make sure that Ash can now join in the kiddie games, Because for now, there are no kiddie games available for toddlers, but that’s okay, we enjoyed the Yellow Party , its our first experience to have the BEST Day Ever!.
