Kpop, Jpop and Mandopop music in Sundown Festival 2012 this Dec 1 in Singapore

Singapore will have their 4th annual Sundown Festival 2012 featuring different kinds of Asia pop music that are very influential to other countries, for example Kpop is now the “IN” here in the Philippines and it was going viral already with the hit songs from the Wonder Girls, Girls Generation and PSY’s Gangnam Style. Mandopop was one of the early popular music in some regions and thanks to the telenovela that popularize the Mando and Canto pop culture, which is also part of a silent mando pop culture here in Manila, we have lots of people who are part Taiwanese and Chinese who lives here and Chinatown still have those specialty stores that sells CDs and DVD from Mando pop culture, and they are presend since the early days.

My 1st asia pop music that I really love is the Japanese music, from Jpop to Jrock, anything Japanese is easily picked up by my brain and also my music taste, thanks to the influence of great Jpop artist and composers like Tetsuya Komura, Globe, Larc en Ciel, Namie Amuro, Luna Sea, Glay, Utada Hikaru, Ayumi Hamasaki and SPEED, ohh sorry, my jpop radar is coming back again.

Let’s go back to Sundown Festival 2012. I’m so happy that they have this kind of festival in Singapore, I was dreaming in the past and prayed  that there will be big mash up of Asia pop culture festival and I didn’t know that they have it already and its their 4th year. That’s really awesome. If you are going to SG this December 1, I suggest you check out Sundown Festival.

I like to share the details of the event by posting the FULL PR of the event, read it below.

Sundown Festival 2012 announce performance line-up with China and Hong Kong as latest addition to the Asian entertainment showcase
SINGAPORE - With Sundown Festival 2012 pulling all the stops to bring in leading acts from China, Japan, Korea, Hong Kong and Taiwan, the F1 Pit Building at Marina Promenade is proving to be the place to be, rain or shine, on December 1, 2012.

Sundown Festival 2012 features buzzed-about newcomers and some of the region's hottest solo and group acts including Jeno Liu Li Yang from China; Raymond Lam from Hong Kong; BTOB from Korea; Anthony Neely from Taiwan and Alice Nine from Japan.

2012 marks the fourth anniversary for the homegrown Festival, which has emerged to become the definitive all-Asian music and cultural experience of the year. Sundown Festival 2012 is executive produced by Red Spade Entertainment, and is supported by the Singapore Tourism Board (STB) and presenting co-sponsor SingTel, Asia’s leading communications group, for the second consecutive year. Global wireless innovation leader, BlackBerry, is this year’s newest sponsor to come onboard.

“Asian Music for a Greater Asia”
"It was necessary to continue this tradition every year; it is our promise to our fans and supporters. Anyone who is interested in Asian music and proud of the immense talents the region has to offer should take a look at what is going to go down at Sundown Festival this December 1," said Samantha Chan, Director, Red Spade Entertainment.

"Sundown Festival has a legacy of highlighting the diversity of the Asian music culture. At the same time, with fans from all walks of life and nationalities banding together to show support for their favorite Asian acts, it illustrates the boundless power music has to unite people and unify differences," said Ellena Liu, Associate Director, Segment Marketing & Communications, Consumer Marketing, SingTel.

Artistes’ line-up overview
This year’s Festival is being headlined by visual kei group Alice Nine, whose most recent releases included self-titled album “9” and compilation of music videos entitled ‘Alice in Pictures III’. Riding on the recent surge in popularity and demand for their brand of glam-metal rock and “visual style” of music outside of Japan, Alice Nine’s highly-anticipated appearance at Sundown Festival 2012 promises to be an evening of head-bopping entertainment.

Fans of Korean pop won’t want to miss Born to Beat, or BTOB, a seven-man group recently unveiled by Cube Entertainment (the same artiste management that produces talents the likes of 4Minute and G.Na). This Korean band is already reining in fans for its fancy footwork and masked mystique.
To complement this amazing line-up of musical entertainment, Sundown Festival will also welcome the Singapore debut of Jeno Liu Liyang, a Guangzhou native whose first shot to fame came when she won Super Girls, a popular singing contest in China, in 2006. With Liu’s soulful vocal, the cyharm of TVB series singer-actor, Raymond Lam and charismatic Taiwan Mandopop prince Anthony Neely all coming together on one stage, Sundown Festival is set to be a massive hit with those seeking quality Asian music and entertainment.
For more information about the line-up, visit www.sundownfestival.sg
“Made in Singapore, Entertaining The World”
“We are pleased to support local entertainment players such as Red Spade in the development of a strong pipeline of differentiated home-grown entertainment content. As the only annual music festival in South East Asia to unite Asian music and culture, we are confident that the Sundown Festival will contribute to our delivery of unique and original tourism experiences for both Singaporeans and international visitors, and set Singapore apart as a global city with an energetic and innovative entertainment scene,” added Lynette Pang, Executive Director for F1 & Sports and Arts & Entertainment, Singapore Tourism Board.

“The amazing line-up of performances is yet further confirmation that Sundown Festival is ranked in the league of some of the region’s leading entertainers and event organisers. Put together by Asians for Asians, the Festival is giving consumers an understanding of the creative potential and musical possibilities as well as the impetus to purvey great Asian music worldwide,” said Keith Loke, Manager, Segment Marketing & Communications for Consumer Marketing, SingTel. “Music is something many of our customers are passionate about and as presenting sponsor of Sundown Festival 2012, SingTel is leading the way in showing how music inspires and amalgamates people in unprecedented ways.”

"Welcoming SingTel and BlackBerry as presenting co-sponsors further proves this year will be the best festival we've seen yet," added Kelvin Goh, Director, Red Spade Entertainment.

ABOUT SUNDOWN FESTIVAL
Sundown Festival is an annual event that celebrates Asian music and culture, with the aims of not only showing the best and most vibrant of Asian entertainment but also to unite and bridge the cultural diversity of Asia. Each year a new Asian country will be added to the list of performers, creating a snowball effect to the festival in order to generate hype, anticipation and captivate audience. The Festival will feature some of the most popular and up-and-coming musicians, on top of their cultural exports (such as food and other consumables) through fringe activities and stalls set up at the event grounds on the Festival day itself. Sundown Festival started in 2009 with the theme Seoul’dOut!, when it focused on Korean music and culture and single-handedly caused an explosion of interest all things Korean (also known as the Hallyu wave) in Singapore. In 2010, Japan was added to the performance line-up, giving rise to the popularity of J-rock and visual kei youth pop culture. Taiwan was added to the mix in 2011, prompting new Asian entertainers and industry players to make Singapore as its maiden stop of fame. Today, Sundown Festival continues to play the role as the purveyor of all things Asian, turning the world’s spotlight to this part of the world and in its course hopes to unite culturally diversified Asia through music. The ultimate goal is to culminate all efforts to give rise to Sundown Festival World Tour of all 11 Asian countries, beginning in home soil Singapore

Shades on!

I canceled my two event coverage assignment today because I want to be with my family. I'm busy with so many things and workload already eats my time and sometimes we forgot to bond together again. I catch them up in SM Bacoor and after buying some new Tomica car and ride on car for Ashton, I decided to buy a new sun glasses at Flyz. Lace bought one too and here's my little kid wants to wear shades like his daddy.

Back in Manila Hotel

I came back to Manila Hotel again, and watch out for my blog feature about the veggie food at Mabuhay Palace. They have a net set of food for the veggie lover!

It's a preview of their new offerings for December 2012 in Manila Hotel.

See you later Bolinao, Pangasinan

Blue Market: Weekend Markets @ Ateneo

Here are the details:

http://www.thebluemarket.biz/
http://www.facebook.com/bluemarketenterprise

In celebration of our Silver Jubilee, we, the Ateneo de Manila High School Class of 1987, invite you to the
BLUE MARKET, happening on November 17 to 18, and 24 to 25, between Gates 1 and 2 of the Ateneo
de Manila parking lot in front of the Blue Eagle Gym. The event serves as a special batch fundraising
project in support of social entrepreneurs, student business initiatives, and similar micro enterprises. It
will be for the benefit of the Tulong-Dunong Foundation and the Philippine Province of the Society of
Jesus.

Not unlike the usual weekend bazaars full of great deals, curious finds, and gastronomic delights, the
Blue Market serves up all that, and so much more. Beyond providing a venue for buyers and sellers to
come together, the Blue Market is a vehicle for helping social enterprises and student ventures take off
at minimal cost, with a ready clientele. The Blue Market easily assures these incubating enterprises of
a constant and loyal customer base. This gives them instant access to a large group of shoppers with
tremendous purchasing power, and affords them a unique opportunity to understand, interact and build
relationships with a broader spectrum of consumers they would otherwise have little chance of tapping.
For market-goers, this is a chance for spending time with family, touching base with old friends, forging
new partnerships, relaxing, unwinding, and sharing blessings while making great new finds and savoring
the joys of shopping. It is a simple yet effective outlet for lending support to young companies and
apostolate communities, and in so doing, taking part in nation-building and the empowerment of the
less fortunate.

The Blue Market is many things to different people. It is a unique and solid launch pad for young,
commercial undertakings. It is a practical learning lab for budding entrepreneurs. It is a fun, festive,
exciting, and new Ateneo tradition as we look forward to celebrate an exciting Christmas season in our
community.
For booth inquiries, please e-mail bluemarketenterprise@gmail.com or accomplish the application
form at www.facebook.com/bluemarket.

Falling Skies Season 2 to premiere in AXN this Nov 14

I like the idea that sci fi drama series Falling Skies is only 10 episodes per season, their 2nd season will air this November 14, 2012 in AXN at 10pm. And from the world of Falling Skies, the ancient Maya calendar has been proven wrong that the end of the world is not dated in December 2012, but its an alien invasion that is now starting to destroy humanity in bits of pieces. The doomsday prophecy might not come true, executive producer Steven Spielberg and screenwriter Robert Rodat had the foresight to produce Falling Skies.

I stopped watching in the half season of season 1 and I think I should finish the half of it in time for the local airing of the new season in AXN. Remember that Tom Mason is the man in this series, he hunts down aliens and tries to look and rescue his son being captured by scary alien creatures. He encounters lots of people and the remaining human survivors in the city as they hold on and try to fight back. I got spoiled while I read that press release, but its okay, at the end of Season 1, Tom will be on his own trying to find away to get rid of those pest aliens.

here are some info about Season 2

//
Tom’s return from the aliens sets the tone for the season – mistrust among the resistance team against Tom and his mysterious return, stirred by Pope (Colin Cunningham, Flashpoint) and his renegade group the Berserkers; Tom’s doubts about his own allegiance to 2nd Mass’ mission, having been the only survivor to return from the mothership unscathed; and worst of all, disturbing, tell-tale signs of the‘beamers’ (alien scouts) changing and upping the hunting game.

Through flashbacks, viewers get a glimpse into what Tom went through during those three months at the hands of the aliens. Back in the camp, Tom’s worst fears came to life when he suffers a sudden seizure, and Anne (Moon Bloodgood, Terminator Salvation: The Machinima Series), a former pediatrician who now doubles up as camp doctor, extracts a swimming metallic bug from his eye.

Even in an apocalyptic world, romance survives, as we see the sparks grow between Tom and Anne, and between Hal and plucky Margaret (Sarah Carter, The Vow). Also of note is guest star Terry O’ Quinn (Lost), who joins the cast as Tom’s former mentor, Professor Arthur Manchester.

A tale of endurance, commitment and courage in which ordinary people are called upon to become heroes, Falling Skies – with the off- and on-screen magic of Spielberg, Rodat, Wyle and more – will unfold as a blockbuster saga of human’s last stand this November 14, only on AXN.

According to the PR that I’m reading, the organizers says that they will provided everything that a music festival goer needs, they will put up lots of food and beverage booths, ATM machines, credit card paying system, mobile devices charging station, and souvenir stations. Everything I need is in there, but I think they forgot to mention we need portalets and mobile toilets.

Also, the organizers recommend that everyone comes in with their very comfy clothes..It’s a rain or shine event, so expect the unexpected! I suggest you bring a clean plastic for your gadgets, just in case that it will rain that day.

If you’ve been to some Fete dela Musique and those music or rock events in outdoors, then I can say that you’ll enjoy and survive the event.

Free webinar for Pinoys : learn how to get work online and be a virtual assistance and content writer

The knowledge you will get from this free webinar this Nov 11 in a Google Hang out environment organized by Maribeth Brown-Oliver, a professional freelance virtual assistance and content writer, will answer all the question we faced every time we met a friend or someone who knows it..  "how do we earn money online?" "how do we get jobs and work at home ?"  "you go to the beach every week and still you are working and earn money at the same time"

Yes, the feeling is awesome when you work at home and be with your family and hang out with your friends anytime, but there are levels of expertise that you must understand on how to be a professional Work-At-home person. Back in the year 2001, I just learned the way of the force! , the online force (you will understand this if you are a Star Wars fan haaha),  I just use my mobile phone and read that I got new clients for a digital publishing gig, and I was there infront of a sunset in a private owned beach rest house in Batangas, sipping an iced tea and watch the sea calms down, I pop up my laptop and started working for some hours and then boom! I got paid after it. How cool is that, with a single push of a button, I'm already working hahhaahh. And the next year is that I discovered that I'm already blogging, then become a working student during 2006 and didn't know that I'm already a virtual assistant to this USA based comic artist talent agency.

Same thing also for blogging, and other things, but online work at home is changing so fast and today we have an additional career - social media management. The webinar will show you the way on how you can be a virtual assistant and also a content writer.

below are the details in copy paste format :)

Digital Marketing Workshop this Nov 17 organized by Jeoff Solas

TIB WORKSHOP
Jeoff Solas organized this Digital Marketing Workshop, and this will be on Nov 17 at the A venue Mall in Makati. Just read the details below to understand the importance of this workshop. This will be a good start for local businesses to learn more about digital marketing and how they can use it for their business and also to get ideas to apply it for their growth.

There are lots of materials online and free webinars discussing the use of digital marketing, but the question will start from you “if your business really needs it and be ready for it”, but if you don’t know yet the answer and want to learn more, I suggest you attend this digital marketing workshop, its just a 5 hours of lecture by 3 speakers, all info are juicy as they will provide lots of examples that happened in the marketing world.

Don’t press that button first, don’t put up your Facebook page if you don’t know how to use it, don’t ever post that your breakfast is tapsilog on your company owned Twitter account, don’t post your drunk photos on the net while you run an advocacy group about drunk driving, there are lot of things to learn and don’t be left behind as technology and social media are evolving so fast and while there are lots of soooooo expensive digital marketing workshop organized every year, why wait for another year? you can start here and then move forward with no hassle.

I’ll just copy and paste all the info here.

Remember Bayo campaign boos? How about Veet with Daniel Matsunaga? Well those are just a few, and of course can we forget the CyberCrime Law?!
  • Fun engagements, not just unfreezing sessions, group dynamics on case studies. No technicalities, everything has a helpful template format to assist the participants, and yes there is limited number of participants. Angry Birds: Star Wars "May the birds be with you" this Nov 8

Of all Angry Birds games and version, I think this game will hook me up in a galaxy far..far away!
November 8 will be the official release of Angry Birds: Star Wars game coming to iOS, Android, Windows Phone, Kindle Fire, Mac, PC & Windows 8.

Do you think that this game will be hot after Disney acquired Lucasfilm for around 4 Billion dollars  few weeks ago?

watch the game trailer here

The Star Wars BGM and SFX makes my ears tingly and when birds and pigs dress themselves as Star Wars characters, I can look at them not just ordinary birds and pigs, but all Star Warsy in character. I'm excited for its release and let's check this on Nov 8 on how many people will download it.

Instagram launches their own web profile page

Instagram-logo
I didn't expected that Instagram will be viewable on the web, and it will be coming from their own web page soon, I'm not sure if this will affect other 3rd party sites that grabs Instagram feeds, but the good part here is that Instagram will go beyond photo story sharing out of mobile and it will be available for view in our desktop PC and laptop.

Did you noticed that the UI is so Facebook ?
Its okay, because Facebook acquired Instagram months ago, I'm not sure if Zuckerberg's idea is to make it available on Facebook or have it build by itself, but as we see the design, Zuckerberg's finger print is obvious.

So I went to my Instagram page to see if I have the feature - http://instagram.com/popazrael
And there I saw a note from Instagram that the web profile feature will be available next week. I'm going to wait for it and prepare for an awesome photo blogging story in my Instagram.

They say that there will be a privacy setting for Instagram users if ever they want to hide their photos for the web and make it accessible for Instagram users or to friends only. And there will be a set to public settings for users who want to share their photos and use Instagram as their photo blog site.

I like the idea, but if it will go public next week, I'm not sure how will you receive comments from non-Instagram users, will they have a feature that Facebook users can comment on your photo? or does the FOLLOW button will be exclusive to Instagram users? It will be cool if they add some sort of Follow button that will allow a Facebook user to receive updates through their Facebook timeline.

I'm so excited and this will be the next thing for photo blogging.

The 2013 Planner/ Journal / Organizer to rule them all

The battle of the 2013 planner/organizer/journal has started, we saw three coffee shops releases their own 2012 planner, its an early battle, but what if the planner above is the one that will rule them all.

go google: necronomicon, evil dead remake

source

I know it will be a kick ass custom design cover for your planner to have a fake human skin stitch together as a hardbound cover, or, it will be cool to have the  old book design from the classic movie - Army of Darkness.
