Yoga for a Difference: Bikram Yoga Alabang supports My Dream in a Shoebox campaign

Press Release - (Manila, Philippines) — Bikram Yoga Alabang (BYA), the hottest fitness enclave in the Metro South, celebrated its third anniversary through a yoga for a cause event entitled "BYA Shares the Love: You and Yoga for a Difference." The event was held at Alabang Town Center.

This year's theme highlighted the essence of the celebration which is to give back to the community through yoga. "We can make a difference through yoga especially when we come together and do something as beautiful as sharing the gift of education," said Ginger Diaz, BYA studio director.

Bikram yoga is composed of 26 postures and two breathing exercises performed inside a heated room. "This time though, we did it outside and that made it even more special," added Diaz.

BYA Shares the Love 2013 is in support of the My Dream in a Shoebox campaign, a Christmas campaign that collects and distributes shoeboxes filled with school supplies to Filipino children and provides funding to help build public schools nationwide. My Dream in a Shoebox is a joint corporate social responsibility initiative of the Information Technology and Business Process Association of the Philippines (IBPAP) and strategic marketing communications firm TeamAsia.

Participants came to the event with a shoebox filled school supplies in one hand and a yoga mat on the other. "We are so happy that BYA chose My Dream in a Shoebox as its beneficiary this year. It is a testament that the more people and groups coming together, the more we can reach our goal," shared Bea Lim, TeamAsia managing director.
BYA Shares the Love is co-presented by Alabang Town Center and TeamAsia, in partnership with Certified Calm, Global Academy, Lightwater, Unilab, Mega Fiber, Pinkberry, Jamba Juice, California Pizza Kitchen, Cafe Mediterranean, and Skin 101.
"As this year's BYA Shares the Love partner, we continue to open our doors to give our community a venue to come together to share common interests, and cultivate our commitment to promote health and wellness into everyone's daily lives," shared Christine Yabao, marketing manager of Alabang Town Center. "We hope that the proceeds of this event will help make a difference in the lives of its beneficiaries."
