I missed this event.. but I'll share here some photos published at SM Supermalls FB Page.

"Last January 20, people from all over the city gathered at the Music Hall of SM Mall of Asia to support and participate in the annual Angels Walk in celebration of the 17th Autism Consciousness Week. For years, the program has been touching the lives of Filipino families dealing with autism, bringing about a greater understanding and a broader sense of compassion for the lives they lead."

A happy lunch buffet of Cafe Eight in Crimson Hotel-Filinvest City Alabang

P1267038
Go on a trip to the south and from there you’ll be surprise to see a new hotel that rises in front of a mall, near the busy walkway and highway. I just discovered Crimson Hotel-Filinvest City Alabang and they just opened last December 2012. If there’s a hotel, there’s also a pool, a nice room, an artsy display of expensive crafts and set up and also restaurant. Crimson Hotel-Filinvest City Alabang is very proud to present to us their all day dining restaurant - Café Eight. The name or title of this restaurant is so familiar to me, and I don’t know if it is related to Café on the Sixth of another hotel. Café Eight’s classy logo and symbol will welcome and inform that your lunch or dinner is served!

The resto is located at the 8th floor of Crimson Hotel-Filinvest City Alabang, it is also the lobby, and the location of the function rooms, a way to the gym and pool.

Here’s my view facing the tables and chair, the buffet area is on my left and I’m impressed that they have a long table filled with lots of food.

P1267002
The lighting set up gives more aesthetic beauty which is very relaxing and feel comfy

P1267007
Here’s a part of the buffet, contains all Japanese food, like sushi and makis

Salmon balls is a crowd favorite here. I tried this and its so yummy. Salmon meat are compressed inside and nicely deep fried to cook it like a meatballs.

Behind the Japanese food is the salad ingredients, you can customize your own salad style here

P1267018
Its weird that I visited the desserts area first and not the main buffet

Their Panacota dessert is good, not that sweet and jelly-like form

more desserts…. here in Café Eight, their desserts are also the best.

Homemade cheese and sundried tomato ravioli
It’s the specialty here in Café Eight, the ravioli is a bit thin, but I’m glad that the tomatoey and cream is tasty, like hitting you in the face and realize that this is a ravioli.

Here’s my 1st plate.
Grilled beef, pork loin, GRILLED LAMB CHOP!!! and prawns
It’s a heavy start but I prefer to skip eating some salad, I love meat and here at Crimson their specialty is Mediterranean cuisine, their Italian chef loves to prepare this here at Crimson.

My 2nd plate
I started slow but I want more meat on my table.

After the lunch buffet, I started eating my dessert set and best to eat it with a hot brew coffee.
Lunch buffet is offered from 11am up to 2:30pm, if you’re planning to start a buffet invasion, I suggest that you start early, try to have a 30 minute tour around the hall, the lobby, by the pool and gym, inquire about the room rates and etc. And after the mini tour, sit down and relax and grab a food.

Crimson is new, and if you want to eat in a quiet and comfy area, then the Café Eight is the best for you, no long lines at the buffet, plus more resto staff to assist you and high ceiling to give you more space to breathe after biting those lamb chops, wheww!!

Enjoy the Southern Perks 25% off on Buffet here at Café Eight.
CALABARZON residents will just to bring their ID with the address just to prove that they live within the covered area. If you are from Manila, you can still eat there with discounts, all you need to do is invite a friend who lived within CALABARZON, just give them the cash to pay for it for the both of you, that’s the only way on how you can still score the discount even if you’re not from around the town.

Caribbean Footwear - the new flip flop in town!

Caribbean Footwear - the new flip flop in town!
Every Filipinos love to wear flip flop, we also call it “tsinelas” “sandalias” or just “sandals”, it’s the primary footwear of pinoys from inside and outside the house, it’s a perfect footwear every summer and for rainy days. But the days for flip flops are not just for home footwear or “pang bahay” sandals, it is also for fashion and style, to project personalities and also provide comfort to our feet. Other flip flops are made from high quality materials, they are imported but sometimes they lack comfort and foot support that sometimes hurt the foot and ankle of the person who wears it, and also they are so pricey.

The trend that I observed last year is that local brands are booming and coming in with high quality materials for their products, just like for flip flops, a new brand comes in providing comfort to our soles and also a guarantee that it will survive the hot ground of our tropical island.

I gave a test and tried Caribbean Footwear, not just an ordinary locally made flip flops, but a high grade tsinelas that can match its internationally labeled counter part.

Caribbean Footwear - the new flip flop in town!
Caribbean Footwear is here for a long time, and I didn’t even noticed it, the news broke out when they sold a load of their brand at the World Trade Center’s World Bazaar, I heard that they got a record for selling the highest product that time. Having a price range from P150-P200 pesos, the price is already okay and if the materials and design can match with other foreign brands, I’m gonna buy this and support our own local products.

Question is… why didn’t we have this on the first place? But its not yet too late, Caribbean Footwear is here to stay and its ready to join the trend and craze this coming summer. They will release a lot of new designs and also style that can fit for our lifestyle and for the changing season. I browsed on their Facebook page and saw that they have a Holiday Collection, whooaaaa!!! a local tsinelas with a seasonal collection.. I like that!

Caribbean Footwear - the new flip flop in town!
So I say farewell to my old tsinelas, and here I welcome Caribbean Footwear in my life. I’ll be using this whenever I travel around the Philippines and it’s a good flip flop when I go to the mall and also perfect for my summer.

Available in all SM Hypermarket, selected SM Department stores and other malls
you can also purchase one online via Lazada at http://www.lazada.com.ph/catalog/?q=caribbean+footwear&submit=&baseUrl=

Caribbean Footwear - the new flip flop in town!
Here’s a teaser that I saw from their Facebook page, looks like a new design is coming this year.

Caribbean Footwear - the new flip flop in town!
I did a test drive and I like the design and softness of the rubber to my foot. I compared this to other brands and its different.....here in Caribbean I feel comfortable already when I first wear it. Other brands gave me some blisters, and I’m glad that the under lining of rubber feet holder is smooth

Caribbean Footwear - the new flip flop in town!
This will be my favorite style and design, its perfect for walking and hiking, and I think it’s the best flip flop for all terrains.

Caribbean Footwear - the new flip flop in town!
The style is very unique and you can see here up close

you can see my video on Twitter how I tested Caribbean Footwear

I heard that they have this non-slippery technology under the flip flop, I don’t know how they did it, but it looks like the design of the rubber sole has a grid in different formation. I think the grid prevents you from slipping on a slippery floor.

Caribbean Footwear - the new flip flop in town!
Time to test this! I noticed the embossed thing above the rubber feet holder. I observed that it gives more comfort and for our feet to stay always on the flip flop.

Caribbean Footwear - the new flip flop in town!
time for a walk… (yeah..napa pedicure pa ko nito ha..kaya clean toe nails hahaha)

Caribbean Footwear - the new flip flop in town!
Size 9 just the right size for me.. other brands gave me a headache when I chose size 9, sometimes small or bigger for my feet.

here's another video
