DC Superheroes exhibit at The Block, SM North EDSA

DC Superheroes exhibit in SM North
I'm on the way for another meeting, but this time in SM City North EDSA, I'm surprised to see that there's a DC Superheroes exhibit happening inside The Block of SM City North EDSA. I think my geek radar is so slow or out of commission and I didn't even detected this.

But I'm happy to see this...and check out those superheroes costume encased in glass chambers, The Justice League is here in Manila!

but where is Superman ?

Impromptu coverage - Boys Overload mall event in SM City Manila

Boys Over Load in SM Manila

I went to SM City Manila for a meeting, but then I arrived so late due to heavy traffic near the area and missed the 4pm meeting, but then I was informed that they have an event at the event center and they will be done at around 6pm. I told my ka-meeting that I will meet them at 6pm after their event, so I stayed in the mall for a while and tried some of the new restaurant at the 4th level.

After my meal, I'm busy checking my Instagram and heard that someone is singing "Umaaraw, Umuulan" song by Rivermaya, at first that I thought that Rivermaya is here in the mall, so I tweeted and FB post it mentioning that the 4th generation band of Rivermaya is here performing live, after my meal and social media push ups, I went down to check out the event.

We got free toys from Breeze Sigeland event in SM MOA

Breeze Sigeland
We're glad that we went to SM MOA the day of June 22,2013, kagagaling lang namin ng SM Megamall and buti na lang we decided to eat our dinner here in SM MOA, we love to stay here because its near to our home.

After arriving in SM MOA, we spotted this event at the Music Hall, we approached the banner and read the details..we saw the Toy Kingdom logo first and we thought that its an event from Toy Kingdom. Then we saw the Breeze logo from the banner and learned its an event from Breeze.

Watami: a Japanese casual restaurant in SM Mall of Asia

Watami in SM MOA
Our plan that day was...attend a meeting, eat lunch and go to SM MOA to watch the weekend fireworks and eat our dinner there. Me and my wife and son, went there and found Watami restaurant in SM Mall of Asia, when my wife saw this for the 1st time 2 days ago before we dine here, she throws a lot of ohhh ahhhh. I know she's interested to try this, but for me.. I heard of Watami before and I missed some of their opening launches few months ago.

Now here's my chance!!! lets try it and see how tasty their food

Nice to see you again.. Kung Fu Kitchen at The District

Kung Fu Kitchen - the district

Az video blog: 10th Bangkathon 2013 in Calatagan, Batangas

Here's my video blog coverage of the 10th Bangkathon 2013 that was held in the oceans of Calatagan, Batangas. Its my first time to do a video coverage of a paddled boat race and riding a small boat in the sea. I used my Olympus E-PL 1 in video recording the whole event,  I also used my iPhone4s with a water proof casing in shooting 2 footages. I'm glad that the turn out is great and everyone are safe during the race. I heard that there's one boat got wiped out by big waves, but still the boatman is okay and his boat didn't suffered any damages. The experience is great for me... I haven't witnessed this kind of festival before in my life, and its nice to know you Calatagan, Batangas in a different perspective.

my coverage: 10th Bangkathon 2013 in Calatagan, Batangas

10th Bangkathon 2013 in Calatagan, Batangas
I just came from an awesome trip and coverage for my blog. The Bangkathon boat race festival and event is not just a regular race but also an eye opener for me on what’s happening around our nearby provinces and also the effort the town folks are doing to conserve and protect the marine resources in Calatagan, Batangas.

My story started where I’m at home just resting and then last Saturday, Ms. Des Lleno, of CSR department of Manila Ocean Park sent a message tag in Facebook and she invited me to join and attend the 10th year of Bangkathon Festival in Calatagan, Batangas. After reading the Facebook post and tag, my mind got refreshed that I have heard this Bangkathon before, not sure if I have read it, seen it on TV or a friend from Batangas mentioned this to me. After getting a confirmation from Des and the organizer of the festival – Mr. Jessie Delos Reyes of Conserve and Protect Oceans Foundation Philippines or CAP-Oceans, I told them I will bring my three other blogger friends to join the journey, I get the positive nod and then we prepared right away and waited for another night to travel to Batangas. Me, Raffy, Enzo and Ron plan it well on Facebook about the trip, but it was okay when Ron back out bec. of daddy duties and some work for Sunday. So it was me, Raffy and Enzo joined the journey and adventure to Calatagan, Batangas.

Super Moon of June 23, 2013 in Calatagan, Batangas. Philippines

Super Moon June 23, 2013 Calatagan, Batangas, Philippines- photos by Azrael Coladilla

I'm not aware that there will be a super moon last night. I got reminded by our companion during our trip in Calatagan, Batangas. We saw the moon so dark yellow last night covered by rain clouds, but it was around 8pm when we started to observe the moon while we are in a moving vehicle. Then I googled and read that the moon's closest position to Earth is at around 7:32pm.

So we missed the Super moon, its biggest, brightest and closest to Earth.

But its okay, we still took a shot of the moon and at around 9:30pm, we went out and started taking photos.
I'm glad there's clear sky in Calatagan, Batangas.

Pinoys may miss ‘supermoon’ tonight
from: http://www.philstar.com/headlines/2013/06/23/957105/pinoys-may-miss-supermoon-tonight

MANILA, Philippines - With rains blocking the night sky, the state weather bureau said Filipinos might miss out on the biggest “supermoon” this year which will happen tonight.

Rex Guerrero of the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA)’s astronomical observatory yesterday said that when there is a full moon and it moves close to the earth, the phenomenon is called a supermoon because the moon would appear bigger.

Guerrero said that the supermoon happens around five to six times a year, and that the biggest supermoon for this year will take place tonight at 7:32 p.m.

Guerrero said the moon will be 49,499 kilometers from the earth this evening.

However, he said that with the presence of the southwest monsoon which has been bringing rains to parts of the country these past few days, there is a possibility that some Filipinos would not be able to get a clear look at the moon.

“Normally, the supermoon could stay at its peak for about an hour, so the public will just have to wait for the rains to stop and, from the windows of their homes, they can look up and see the moon,” Guerrero said.

Last year, the country experienced a total of five supermoons.

Guerrero also said that high tides are expected because of the full moon.

Bangkathon 2013 day zero

We are here now in Peninsula resort in Calatagan, Batangas for the Bangkathon 2013. We will stay here overnight and wake up early at 5am to prepare for the grand boat paddle race. Its their tenth year today and kudos to the Conserve and Protect Oceans Foundation Philippines for keeping the sea protected and also educating our local fisher folks.

I just learned earlier that fisherfolks who will join the race should be registered and licensed fisherman, their boat are also registered. Jessie of Cap ocean org informed me that they have now 23 participants for the race tomorrow, the most exicting part is that the water here in Batangas is in its highest tide.... The most highest tide ever... They told us that the sea level here in Calatagan rises 3 inches every year, so that proves that sea level rising is active and in the future some islands in our country will be covered by the sea.. Freaky noh

Also the most exciting part is to see their artificial reefs under water. They have placed 14 reef pyramids under water, all completed and constructed by man.

The blocks used are made of dead corals and this man made reef can replaced the dead coral reefs.

Imagine... They have 14 pyramids... With height of 30 feet and standing under the 60 feet see water and that 14 reefs are built by thousands of volunteered divers from all over the world and funded by one private person here in Calatagan.

They invited us to dive tomorrow but i told them i can just snorkel... jessie said i can still view the reef pyramids from the surface via snorkel.

Also best part here... Its the only reef pyramid here in the country

Ok time to go to bed
See you later Bangkathon

Yup i posted this using my iPhone4s
