I went to Carvajal st. in Binondo to find a nice carinderia
for my lunch. I remembered that there’s a famous food hub here in Carvajal and I
forgot already its name, but a quick photo walk inside Carvajal st. might land
me for that food hub.
my first time to walk in the streets of Escolta alone, usually I go here in a
tour or with photo walk buddies, but this time I went here alone and its funny
that I landed in Jones bridge after walking through the end of the street, my
map is kinda wonky and I realized that I am in the right track for the Black
Nazarene procession. I know the streets of Quiapo and Binondo but I’m not
familiar with the corners of Escolta st. hahahaa. I think this photo walk will
remind me to visit this place often and take awesome pics of the strain of old
Here’s my part two of my blog series about my trip and
experience at the Feast of the Black Nazarene, I have tons of photos that I took
yesterday, and I just selected a few that will tell a story, I like to upload
everything on my Facebook photo album but uploading with photos only is just so
boring, that’s why I created this blog series just to accompany the photo with a
story. I hope I can finish everything before the day ends, I think this will go
up to part 3 or 4.
Welcome back to my photo story and also my coverage of the
Feast of the Black Nazarene 2014, this is my 7th year in doing a blog coverage
of the feast and the procession of the Black Nazarene here in my blog. Every
year I go to Quiapo Church to attend the mass and also watch and wait for the
arrival of the procession in the streets of Manila. My family is a devotee of
the Black Nazarene for many years and my memory of starting to join with them in
a mass in Quiapo was when I’m 7 years old, not the accurate age that I can
remember but I will ask my mom if ever she’s online.
Here's a route map of the procession of the Black Nazarene in Manila, I think its the same route from last year's procession. I'm not sure if I can go there tomorrow morning at 6am to take photos, but my first plan is to go to Quiapo church to attend the mass and then cover the procession in Central Terminal area. I'm not sure if ever I can climb up to the roof of the underpass, because my right knee is still injured and I can't even bend. so Bahala na bukas hehehhe.
30, 2013 – I went to Manila in the morning to attend a radio guesting with
Francine Delas Alas for her radio show “Happy Thoughts” in DZRJ, I was invited
to be the year ender guest of her radio show, you can listen to the recorded
audio here in my blog at www.azraelsmerryland.blogspot.com/2013/12/radio-recording-azrael-coladilla-guest.html ,
and when I was in Manila, my wife texted me and told me that I should be home in
Tagaytay City before night time because there’s a New Year countdown and also a
firework display in Sky Ranch, I’m a bit puzzled why they have the countdown on
December 30th, then I realized that maybe Sky Ranch is closed at the evening of
December 31 that’s why they organized a fireworks display and a mini concert in
the evening of December 30.
29, 2013 – I don’t know why my wife started this hunt called “picnic table with
awesome view . hunting in Tagaytay” , I think she’s doing an ocular view for
her next birthday this Feb 2014. That’s why she joined in our photo walk and she
inserted this activity in checking out some picnic table set up along the
highway of Tagaytay City with an awesome view of the Taal Volcano.
my first time also check those picnic tables and I didn’t noticed those whenever
I’m in Tagaytay.
29, 2013 – We found a new café here in Tagaytay City, after we ate our lunch in
Mushroomburger, we decided to have a photo walk along the highway, so we walk
down going to the bulalo side of Tagaytay and right after the burger joint and
bulalo stip, we found this sign “Café Carmencita” on the road and then there’s a
bigger sign posted on a gate and it leads us to this café that sits at the
ground floor of residential home, not sure if it’s a private home or maybe they
converted the ground floor to a café.
29, 2013 – Hello!! and welcome to our part 3 of our Tagaytay holiday tripcation
version 2. This is my 2nd blog series of our pre-New year vacation here in
Tagaytay City. I rarely go to Tagaytay because we live 1 hour away from the
city, its not our special place because its too common already for us to go
there, but after this holiday tripcation, I realized that there’s a lot of
things need to discover and re-discover here in Tagaytay, the place is starting
to bring more new resto, new attractions and also place to stay, that’s why I
created this new blog series, just o re-visit the old place and also discover
new spots here in Tagaytay.
28, 2013 – I have no idea that my wife will brought us here in Nature Discovery
Camp in Tagaytay City, it’s a camp site and nature tripping venue located right
after Picnic Grove. She told me to check out the some photos and stories from
blog post so that I can get an idea what’s the review about Nature Discovery
Camp. In some blogs, I saw that many teens and young professionals spend time
here with their friends during weekends, just to relax and enjoy the nature side
and also fresh air here in Tagaytay City. They also set up their tent and stayed
overnight, there’s also a swimming pool and clean separate shower room and
bathrooms for male and female.
28, 2013 – We went back to Tagaytay after spending Christmas at home in Cavite
and this will be our holiday tripcation before the coming of new year 2014.
Let’s dub this new blog series the Tagaytay tripcation v.2 (or version
We’re a bit unprepared again when we went to Tagaytay City, we don’t
know where to eat our lunch and then we heard of Mahogany Market from travel
sites and blogs online that we should try it and its one of the most visited
place for food here in Tagaytay City. I also read that the best bulalo in town
is in there and freshest veggies and fruits are also sold in Mahogany Market, so
at around 11:30am, we went outside and rode one jeepney going to Mahogany
went back to Tully’s Coffee at The Exchange Regency building in Ortigas Center,
my plan there is to eat my dessert and then wait for someone there for a meet
I was supposed to eat my breakfast here, but I arrived at around
lunch time and then I just ate my lunch somewhere else, then I went back here to
have coffee and eat a yummy cake for my dessert. I have my laptop with me that
day and I included in my plan is to finish some of my work there while I wait
for the person that I’ll meet that day. Tully’s Coffee is a nice place for your
mobile office, they have many electric sockets for your smart devices and
laptops. They also have free wifi and you can request the password access from
the counter after you order.
the ouch never stops...
My wound on my right knee starts to heal at day 8, I can say that the pain starts to go away for almost a week, but I can still feel the pain whenever there's pressure happening at my right leg, but the pain is bearable,I can still walk and sit down properly, but can't bend too much or stretch because the wound starts to dry up and there's swelling around it. The farthest that I can go is in a nearby mall, but there are times that I can feel pain on my knee when I start to walk longer, I'm glad that we rode the taxi on the way home earlier, we went to the mall to buy some grocery and treat our son in a playhouse, my knee starts to give up because I'm carry my son and he fell asleep on me.
Its my 2nd time here i n Goodfellas Steaks and Burgers, my 1st time here was years ago during the early stage of their restaurant, and flash back to 2013, I saw that this resto is surviving on its own and now has a position in the food belt of QC as a venue for good burgers, steaks, beer and wine. When we went here at around 11:30am, we were the only customer that arrived and we’re so lucky that they are still open. And during our lunch meal, we noticed that there’s a company who ordered a big set of burgers and drinks, I think its for their company’s Christmas party and then later on some foreigners in big bikes stepped in and bought some beers, and lastly some couples entered the resto and ordered the same food that we have on the table.
