P4081195
April 8, 2014 – Bibingka is very popular during Christmas, here in Manila we have some restaurant that offers special bibingka, but never mind the price, because they offer it all year round, the taste is very upscale and also its price too. But here in San Pablo, Laguna, their bibingka is a different kind, it is made up from rice flour or bigas, they call it Bibingka sa bigas. It is tasty, yummy and affordable.

Side trip shopping in Ultimart Mall in San Pablo City, Laguna - Southern food trip part 3

P4081189
April 8, 2014 – We went here in Ultimart mall in San Pablo City,Laguna, it’s one of the 1st shopping arcade back in the 90’s and now it’s a full blown shopping mall with groceries, department store, boutiques, restaurants, cafe , gaming arcade, toy store and also a home to Aristocrat restaurant branch here in Laguna.

I learned that the owner of the mall is also the franchise owner of the branch of Aristocrat restaurant here in San Pablo City, Laguna. We are scheduled to eat here for our lunch and since that we arrived a big early, we decided to check out first the entire mall. Sayang nga eh, if ever I have a time, I can ride a trike going to Sampaloc Lake to take some photos, but that was okay, the mall is here and I put on my geek hat and go on a hunt for some good toys and collectibles.

My 1st time breakfast at Aristocrat restaurant in Manila Roxas Blvd. - Southern food trip part 1

P4081090
April 8, 2014 – Its food trip adventure time! This resto is where we started our weekday food trip to the Southern side of Luzon, Its just a short food trip but for me it was like a 2 day travel and food adventure because we don’t have any itinerary and we visit lots of locations that day, and our plan is to hunt some good food in San Pablo City, Laguna. We meet up here in The Aristocrat Restaurant in Manila Roxas Blvd. Before we leave the city, my blogger friend Arpee told us that we can eat first our breakfast here in Aristocrat, from there I met the other foodie bloggers and also the food journalist and cook Nancy Reyes-Lumen, I’m a big fan of her because me and my wife always watch her tv food show “Pinoy foodies”, I just can’t believe that we will travel with her for this food adventure, the fanboyism was kept in my bag and never let it out till I went home haahaha.

I texted Edel and Marj and told them that we will be in Mines View.

Strawberry harvesting in La Trinidad, Benguet - Azalea Residences Baguio family vacation part 10

P3300265
March 30, 2013 – For our 3rd stay in Baguio City, our friend brought us in La Trinidad, Benguet, it’s the only location in town that can grow strawberries and vegetables, because of the special altitude and very cold weather in La Trinidad, it’s a best spot to grow strawberry and other leafy veggies. My first time to be here was in 2009, thanks to our same friend who brought us here, and also I experience last year the strawberry picking activity.

I’m glad that it was not crowded when we visited the strawberry farm last March 30. I’m sure this holy week, it will be crowded by lots of tourist and bakasyonista from Manila.

IMG_6364
March 29, 2014 – After a long tour around Baguio, me with Team Seatsfortwo decided to ride the taxi and visit Good Taste and Café by the Ruins.

It was around 6pm when we arrived here in Good Taste, the taxi driver told us that Café by the ruins is located at the back of Eurotel next to Good Taste. I’ve been to Baguio twice a year and once this year, but I haven’t tried Café by the ruins yet. I was hoping that we can visit that night but we decided to go back to our hotel – Azalea’s Residences Baguio for our group dinner.

Skaters in rail grind in Wright Park Baguio - Azalea Residences Baguio family vacation part 7

P3290136
March 29, 2014 – Yup, I’m including this in my blog post series. I think there’s a growing community of skateboarders in Baguio. I saw these skaters for the 2nd time here at Wright Park, they do skateboarding and grinding on custom made rail. They brought their own rail and placed it here at the smooth pavement of Wright Park.

Family photo op at The Mansion and Wright Park in Baguio - Azalea Residences Baguio family vacation part 6

P3290064
March 29, 2014 – We went to The Mansion and Wright Park after our lunch activity in Mother’s Garden, I know that these two sites are a nice attraction to see and visit here in Baguio City, it’s the old sites that we usually visit during the times we are in our teens when mom and dad stop by infront to park their car and do some photo ops. In this generation its still a photo op site in Baguio, a site for selfies, photo bombs and groupie pics errr and jump shots too, its also a nice site for family photo op. I want this photo to be special, because its our son’s 1st time in Baguio and we as a family of weekend warriors and food monsters. lol.

Mother’s Garden and Café : A secret garden restaurant in Baguio - Azalea Residences Baguio family vacation part 5

P3290050
March 29, 2014 – My view for Baguio City is now changing, instead of the cold weather and its amazing nature wonders and mountain view or tourist spots, my view for Baguio changed into a food trip capital of the North. Why? because lots of restaurants and food spots are booming and the last time I went there is stuffing myself with food and having a nice dining experience. For the 2 time I visited Baguio last 2013, all I can say is that I super enjoyed the food trip and the eco tourism part.

Eco education in Maryknoll Ecological Sanctuary - Azalea Residences Baguio family vacation part 3

P3299900
March 29, 2014 - This is our first tour around Baguio City, our guide is our friend local resident of Baguio and also a blogger. Our first visit is here at the Maryknoll Ecological Sanctuary, the name Maryknoll is very familiar and yes..it is related to Miram college in Manila and also this was a school before when it was founded in Baguio during the 1920s. The school was converted into an education venue for students, organizations and people who want to learn more about the environment. The Maryknoll Eco Sanctuary was founded after the 90’s earthquake in Baguio, the founders decided to convert this as a learning ground and to teach the importance of taking care of our environment. The educational eco tour is not just about our catholic faith, but also its about a cosmic journey on how everything was created, how everything is connected to each other and how you can help to make a big difference in this generation.
Love it and save the planet!

Azalea Residences Baguio: Our home in Baguio for 4 days #familyfun trip - Azalea Residences Baguio family vacation part 2

P3289800
March 28, 2014 – After getting our keycard from the hotel reception area, we went up to the 4th floor via elevator here in Azalea Residences Baguio, its our home hotel in Baguio for 4 days, we arrived here at around 8:30pm, we didn’t felt tired during the bus travel, because we took the 1st class bus ride via Victory Liner, our 6 hours ride is just like hanging out in our living room or bed room with wheels.

My wife and son are so excited to see the look of our hotel room, I stayed here in Azalea for a 3rd time and I’m sure they will not be disappointed, because if my family prefers a luxury setting for a hotel, then Azalea Residences is the best for them, because according the hotel’s tagline that they provide the modern comfort and luxury to their guests.

It will be our first time to together to travel via bus and first time for a long land trip, 2 hours is usually our travel time going to Manila and back home, but traveling at around 5-6 hours is a first and also a first in riding a commercial bus liner going to Baguio City.
