Pixel Pro Inc. just hosted a photography 101 and food photography sessions with us and the seminar is conducted by professional photographer Mike Mariano. The event was held in Dencio's, Greenhills. This is my first ever seminar about photography and because that I'm busy and never got the time to attend a seminar, glad that Pixel Pro Inc. just organized one event for bloggers, photo bloggers, food bloggers and photo enthusiats. Mike discussed the basics of photography and also the importance of lighting, concept and styling.
I got inspired and did some food photo shoot, and that's a part of our activity (more awesome than eating ahhaah)
Here are my sample shots
I'm using my trusty old Olympus SP 500 UZ, well, it take some good shot, but using a DSLR will be better in imaging and backlight.

here's a video during the photo activity
Here are some notes from Mike's powerpoint Food Photography : A "Hearty" Experience
What elements makes a food shot a good one? 1. Concept - Where would the shot be used; what is the basic behind the shot? 2. Food Styling - Some dishes when not properly prepared looks awful on camera 3. Lighting and good use of photographic technique (lens choice, angle and others.)
