Bob Dylan is releasing “Christmas in the Heart,” an album filled with sincere renditions of age-old favourites. Proceeds from the record will be donated to organizations around the world to help with hunger and homelessness. Jeepney Magazine is the first magazine in the country published to communicate the voice of the poor, and where all the post investment profits go to the vendors from vulnerably housed communities. Vendors buy a copy of the magazine at a price 50 percent lower than the cover price and sell it to the public, keeping the proceeds. This allows Jeepney magazine vendors to make a 100 percent profit, and hopefully, earn more than the Philippine minimum wage in a day.
Aside from the street paper-exclusive Bob Dylan interview, the Jeepney magazine 2010 commemorative calendar features dynamic photos of the Philippine delegation to the Homeless World Cup held in Milan, Italy. The calendar provides vibrant and colorful images capturing the beauty of the games, and the amazing triumph of the players, who prove that being born into poor economic conditions does not equate to a life defined by poverty of spirit. Pictures not only include some great football actions but also emotions poured out by the teams and supporters celebrating the success of Team Philippines, which ranked top 32 in the world and considered best of Asia!
