It
was Halloween 2011 when we first visit the Nido Fortified Science Discovery
Center in SM Mall of Asia, my son Ashton, who is just 1 year old and we brought
him there for us to celebrate Halloween as a family, we were welcomed by
costumed beings at the entrance gate and then we tour around the science center
and also it was Ash’s first time to watch in a big screen.
Last weekend,
we were invited to visit the Science of Cartoon exhibit and activity by Cartoon
Network, and I know there will be cartoons decorated all over the place and
we’re a bit excited because it will be one of the 1st Cartoon Network related
events that we will attend with Ash.
There
are lots of changes inside the Nido Fortified Science Discovery Center and I’m
glad that they renovated and changed the exhibit after some long years they
opened it. I observed that most of the exhibited attractions are high tech and
most of it are using new technology like the live news room and the augmented
reality videos.
The
world’s largest crocodile in the world was found in the river here in our
country, and this is the replica statue of the world’s largest croc named
Lolong. Its so huge and kids were afraid to go nearby this statue, because the
size of it really intimidates the small kids.
There’s
an activity for kids and parents and there we helped in painting the Ben 10
puzzle that will be put up in a wall after the parade.
Me
and my son Ash went back to the Nido Fortified Science Discovery Center and we
played some toys and we can see him here trying to take a photo using a camera
toy.
Here’s
a large scale old camera and also a mini exhibit of vintage cameras.
Touch
screen monitors with information that can help kids understand the science
Here’s
an explanation that everyone is unique

The
Nido Fortified Science Discovery Center staff conducts a live storytelling
session with the kids.
Me
and Ash watched the planetary episode at the Planetarium screen of Nido
Fortified Science Discovery Center , it was fun to see Ash watch the entire show
and also he got afraid when the planet Earth moves closes to the
screen.
Nido Fortified Science Discovery Center is now in its version 2,
and with the help of Cartoon Network, the exhibit went inline with new
technology and also a way to understand the magic and wonders of everything
around us and also includes us humans and animals.
“The Science of
Cartoons’ truly embodies what the Nido Fortified Science Discovery Center is
about – allowing kids to learn by getting them involved in the experience, in
the medium they enjoy the most. With the help of Cartoon Network, we were able
to achieve the very essence of fun and learning. We can’t wait to open The
Science of Cartoons to the public” - according to Mr. Arturo Carballo, Senior
Operations Manager of NIDO Fortified Science Discovery Center.
I’m
excited for the full launch and now I wish for more exhibits, lifesize replicas
and also high tech learning rigs.
