Southerners are happy to hear that news that SM Southmall was relaunch few
weeks ago and it now bears a new direction to an enjoyable experience in
shopping, dining and entertainment. Me and my family go to this mall and its one
of the most OKAY mall for us here in the South, the Okay means is that we love
the mall's offering when it comes to restaurants, shopping, Imax movies, Ice
skaring and many more. Its a mall that completely stand out from other malls in
the South, because its the only one that can offer everything.
When the Food
Street was opened, from the 1st time we saw the new and incoming restos there,
we at home decided to check out and feel the mall's new changes, then we found
out that the Food Street is the most comfortable area for dining, we love the
spacing of each resto and also keeping it away from the event center and have a
nice comfy dining with any noise. Or if ever there's an event at the Food
Street, you can go directly to their al fresco dining area outside and feel the
nice air and also ambiance of a warm lighting and nice accommodation. We taught
that SM Bacor and SM Molino will be the best mall for us here in Cavite, but
then the SM Southmall is the most recommended mall if you are living in the
South. Well, sometimes others, but my itchy feet always bring us here.
Its
just a 30 minute drive away from Bacoor City, when there's a traffic in Las
Pinas, add more 30 minutes hehehe.
Let's check out the launching event that I
covered last Nov 17th.
When
we saw the launching event venue, we got so excited as we saw a large cloth
covering the background of the stage, looks like there will be a big unveiling
that will happen after the event, we sat down and enjoy cool cocktail
drinks.
UP
Singing Ambassadors, a choral group, performed lots of Christmas songs and also
love songs for us, they performed at around 6 songs that night and opened the
relaunch event of SM Southmall
While
they are singing, we are watching this videos on the wall and we saw some
teasers about the new direction of SM Southmall.
Isa
Litton hosted the night and there she shares that she always go to SM Southmall
and if its far from her location in Zapote, she still goes here to shop and dine
with her family. Same thing for us..farther than Zapote, we always go here in SM
Southmall.
The
Foodstreet is still the main attraction here, for me it’s the perfect dining
venue for a mall. Other SM malls should follow this direction.
SM Supermalls executives led by SM Prime President Mr. Hans
T. Sy, SCMC President Ms. Annie S. Garcia, VP Operations-South Mr. Glenn D. Ang,
SCMC VP Operations-Premier malls Mr. Steven T. Tan, VP Leasing Ms. Daisy T.
Chua, and SM Engineering Mr. Hans Christian Sy Jr. together with key executives
from partner stores, celebrities and personalities.
Gian
Magdangal performed some Christmas song in a Buble’ way.
After
the performance of Gian, the curtain was opened and we saw lots of fireworks and
confetti falling to the ground, then we saw its Christmas centerpiece now
located at the Food Street area of SM Southmall. It’s a Royal Christmas
Carnival.

Billed as “New Direction,” the event marked several reasons why the South is
the new direction for quality and upscale leisure and entertainment. SM
Southmall’s redesigned 20-hectare property boasts of over 300 prime retail
choices and all-new attractions to visit.
For
shopping, the mall presents a sample of its architectural
innovation High Bay, a high ceiling section for serious shoppers, which hosts
foreign labels such as 158 Designer’s Boulevard, Nine West, Cache Cache,
Terranova, Aldo, Charles & Keith, La Senza and Face Shop among others. Truly
a Southern belle’s shopping line-up daydream come true!
Entertainment is also a premier feature at SM Southmall. It is home to
the only IMAX Theater in the South Metro, which offers a comfortable 440-seating
capacity and the latest in cinema technology, and SM Ice Skating Rink, one of
only two SM ice skating rinks in the Philippines. Families in nearby villages
will have a grand time spending moments together both at the movies and at the
skating rink.
The South equally sets a new direction for a definitive
dining
experience – at the
Food Street at Southmall. True to the mall’s
commitment to bring the best to the South, this 250-meter row of restaurants
celebrates togetherness among families and friends as it offers a variety of
cuisines for discriminating tastes and individual palates. The establishment
boasts of spacious
al fresco dining area, illuminated LED fountain that
serves as a visual delight for all ages, soothing jazz music, weekly live
entertainment, parking that’s within walking distance and a convenient drop off
and pick up area for both the shoppers and diners. Food Street at Southmall
includes dining favorites Black Canyon Coffee, Sambokojin, Holly’s Coffee,
Maharaja, Tokyo Café, Mesa Filipino Moderne, Agave, Rack’s, Sumosam, Almon
Marina, Giligan’s Island, Hainanese Delights, Burgoo, Marciano’s, Blackbeard’s
Seafood Island, Starbucks, Tous Le Jours and Café Mary Grace.
The rest of SM Southmall retail spaces have also been re-zoned for an
enjoyable, accessible and convenient shopping experience for all mallgoers. SM
Southmall will soon offer SM Bowling Center, Mall Concierge, Golf Cart Service,
LED Carpark Finder, Valet Service, Driver’s Lounge, Transport Service Expansion,
enhancement of PWD facilities and more shopping choices.
With all these new services and features for the Southern folks to enjoy, SM
