Every Filipinos love to wear flip flop, we also call it “tsinelas” “sandalias” or just “sandals”, it’s the primary footwear of pinoys from inside and outside the house, it’s a perfect footwear every summer and for rainy days. But the days for flip flops are not just for home footwear or “pang bahay” sandals, it is also for fashion and style, to project personalities and also provide comfort to our feet. Other flip flops are made from high quality materials, they are imported but sometimes they lack comfort and foot support that sometimes hurt the foot and ankle of the person who wears it, and also they are so pricey.
The trend that I observed last year is that local brands are booming and coming in with high quality materials for their products, just like for flip flops, a new brand comes in providing comfort to our soles and also a guarantee that it will survive the hot ground of our tropical island.
I gave a test and tried Caribbean Footwear, not just an ordinary locally made flip flops, but a high grade tsinelas that can match its internationally labeled counter part.
Caribbean Footwear is here for a long time, and I didn’t even noticed it, the news broke out when they sold a load of their brand at the World Trade Center’s World Bazaar, I heard that they got a record for selling the highest product that time. Having a price range from P150-P200 pesos, the price is already okay and if the materials and design can match with other foreign brands, I’m gonna buy this and support our own local products.
Question is… why didn’t we have this on the first place? But its not yet too late, Caribbean Footwear is here to stay and its ready to join the trend and craze this coming summer. They will release a lot of new designs and also style that can fit for our lifestyle and for the changing season. I browsed on their Facebook page and saw that they have a Holiday Collection, whooaaaa!!! a local tsinelas with a seasonal collection.. I like that!
So I say farewell to my old tsinelas, and here I welcome Caribbean Footwear in my life. I’ll be using this whenever I travel around the Philippines and it’s a good flip flop when I go to the mall and also perfect for my summer.

Here’s a teaser that I saw from their Facebook page, looks like a new design is coming this year.
I did a test drive and I like the design and softness of the rubber to my foot. I compared this to other brands and its different.....here in Caribbean I feel comfortable already when I first wear it. Other brands gave me some blisters, and I’m glad that the under lining of rubber feet holder is smooth
This will be my favorite style and design, its perfect for walking and hiking, and I think it’s the best flip flop for all terrains.

Caribbean logo embedded on the rubber feet holder
I heard that they have this non-slippery technology under the flip flop, I don’t know how they did it, but it looks like the design of the rubber sole has a grid in different formation. I think the grid prevents you from slipping on a slippery floor.
Time to test this! I noticed the embossed thing above the rubber feet holder. I observed that it gives more comfort and for our feet to stay always on the flip flop.
time for a walk… (yeah..napa pedicure pa ko nito ha..kaya clean toe nails hahaha)
Size 9 just the right size for me.. other brands gave me a headache when I chose size 9, sometimes small or bigger for my feet.
