Alaxan hosted a viewing party for the 1st FIBA game of our Gilas Pilipinas team vs. Croatia, the viewing party was held at Skinny Mike’s Sports Bar in BGC. I went there after the Globe Slipstream event with my blogger friends.
I’ve met the Gilas Pilipinas team during the press con for the PBA All Star game in MOA Arena, they are so comfy and not nervous about the upcoming FIBA Game, I just told myself that these big guys can beat any players of a foreign land, but I cringe to death when I saw the actual game aired via Cignal TV.
We cringe when we saw the “tambak” moments of the opponent, Croatia did a nice move intimidating our team, they are big, tall and loves to do body contacts with our players. Gilas players looks like a kid playing basketball with senior schoolers, we were unmatched at the 1st quarter but the energy was changed at 2nd quarter, because we see Gilas Pilipinas starts to soar and bring tension to the Croatia team.
It was a good basketball match for our game 1, we didn’t win the 1st game ( and loss again for the 2nd time vs. Argentina), but I do believe that it was just a start and the ball will just start to go on fire on the next game, I know that we can win some games.
