Behind me is the 4,050 kg of lechon, it’s a bits of chopped lechon belly and they weigh it until they beat the 3094 kg of roasted pig “cochinita pibil” of Mexico, a record that was set last March 2010. Yesterday, Calata Corp sets a new world record for the world’s largest serving of roasted pig, Calata Corp represents our country in breaking the world record.
Calata Corp. is one of the biggest agricultural conglomerate in the country, they are now celebrating their 16th anniversary and to throw a big party for everyone, they just organized a lechon party for the public and decided to break Mexico's record. One of the agenda of this record breaking event is to inform everyone in the world that the Philippines has bigger opportunities in agriculture and also teaches and promote the young people about farming, without farming the country will outsource all of the agriculture needs from other country.
Calata Corp. is headed by Chairman and CEO of Calata Corp., Joseph Calata, a young billionaire and also a person with passion in agriculture.
Representative from the Guinness World of Records awards Calata Corp for winning and also breaking a new record for the world’s largest serving of roasted pork in the world.
The official weighing and gift giving of free lechon to everyone was done at the Quezon City Memorial Circle park.
