This
coming November 13, Unilever Philippines through its germ-kill expert brand
Domex has joined again for another 3rd year of World Toilet Day and has been
working with UNICEF and the PPHA or the Philippine Public Health Association for
the "One Million Clean Toilets Movement", this is an advocacy program to educate
Filipinos to have a proper clean toilet, practice hygiene and sanitize their
household toilet and fight disease-causing germs.
Why we need this?
We need to educate and inform everyone about World Toilet Day, because the
report according to the World Health Organization (WHO), kids around the world
(estimate) miss 443 million school days each year, kids get sick due to poor
sanitation in their area, also lack of hygiene practices because they used
unsanitary toilets or some do open defecation that can contaminate the food and
water that leads to sickness and death.
Millions of people and also
children are exposed to health problems by using dirty toilets populated by
diseases-carrying germs that causes these illness = diarrhoeal, parasitic worm
infection and many more.
Many people uses laundry bleaching solution to clean their toilets and bowls,
but they are not aware that it is not enough to kill these disease-causing
germs, the only way to eliminate the germs is by using a germ-kill expert brand
to clean the toilet and also can kill the germs.
“A toilet that looks
clean to the naked eye may not necessarily be free from germs and bacteria. So,
it is very important to properly sanitize all surfaces using a germ-kill expert
with proven efficacy in eliminating bacteria, and not just any ordinary laundry
bleach,” - Dr. Luisa Efren of the Philippine Public Health Association
(PPHA)
