I think my walk from the LRT up to the church is around 30 min. There are some delays when a police car starts to roll in the middle of the crowd, many street vendors and also devotees blocked the road so the way going in and out of the church is so difficult.
I arrived late for the mass but I was on time for the lecture and sermon of the priest, during the mass, I started to move forward till I reach the front area of the church – the Plaza Miranda.

Here are some scenes that I caught while on my way to Plaza Miranda

Group of teens trying to get a good deal for a rosary bracelet

I look up at that old building, its one of the old building that resides to an old restaurant called Chonam (that already closed down years ago)

Saw an airbrushed design shirt worn by a group of people near Quiapo church

Faith healers are so active infront of Quiapo church
they are always there during the Feast of the Black Nazarene

I just saw Bayad aka Jun Sabayton shooting a video and report for TV5 with these group of people dressed in white robes

Faith healing and some ceremony happening….

I joked around and said to myself… I think I saw physicist Michiko Kaku

Saw this teen standing on the plant box at Plaza Miranda.

Almost near in front of Quiapo Church

A devotee exits the area carrying their image of the Black Nazarene

I just stopped here to attend the mass.
As usual, its crowded, hot and dirty. The entire Plaza Miranda is filled with church goers, devotees, vendors and passing crowd.

I also spotted two snipers at the terrace area of the church
I admit that they are so annoying, because it’s a bit disturbing when you pray and you see them move aiming their big gun to certain location and view their gun’s telescopic viewer. Im not sure if they are observing something or someone in one of the buildings at the other side of the road.

Its hard to see them here in my photo
I will provide later a much zoom photo of the two snipers

Uy selfie si ate habang nasa mass

This kid cried so much, I think he wants something.
The mother tries to calm down the child as she carried the kid away from the crowd
baka naiinitan lang sya

I tried to secure all my things while the mass is going on
I think I carried too much items on that day

”Ama namin….”

Big LCD TV at the side is getting better and clearer even on day time.

After the mass proceed to Carriedo area
and here I saw a street vendor selling lots of cauli flower and some veggies
I heard that one cauli flower is PHP 50, as in one small piece

The old lady street vendor is a regular here at the streets of Carriedo

The street going to SM Quiapo is now so crowded
This is not as crowded as last year.

That building is the old SM Quiapo aka SM Carriedo, one of the earliest SM malls in Manila

My route going to Sta Cruz and Escolta, I learned from Ted via FB msg that the Black Nazarene just passed by Jones Bridge.
I still proceed to meet him in Sta Cruz church, I told him that I’m already near.
We can cover the arrival of the Black Nazarene and then eat our lunch after

A replica of the Black Nazarene arrives infront of SM Carriedo

Spotted this kid playing the steel cable of the electric post

Now in Carriedo…I noticed that its crowded so early
It means that the Black Nazarene is near already

A mom and her child waits for the Black Nazarene.
they brought their mini replica and want it to be blessed by the image.

Kids as towel catchers are on the roof top of a make shift andas on a truck.

The old BPI Building..starts to deteriorate
I thought that they main and restore this to good shape

More replica arrives.

Me and a group of people spotted that little child walking alone, its so weird to see him walk in the middle of the busy crowd. I guess the mom walks ahead and then later on we saw an older kid arrives and guided the little one to walk with him
its so surreal to see a little kid to be a street smart

More devotees coming out of Escolta st.
I hear also some people collaborating how they can get a chance to climb the andas
then I heard that the image is near Escolta

Here’s my view infront of Sta Cruz Church.
Ted told me that he was in the pedestrian area near a drug store and a printing shop
Its hard to look for him at that hour and 3G signal starts to fail.
I waited for some 15-20 minutes for him to respond
But then I sent a message to him that I will forward and maybe see him after the procession.
I walked through the busy crowd and decided that I eat lunch first before I attend the procession.
