Bagnet! Bagnet! Bagnet!
Its Bagnet everywhere! hahahahah. Its funny that the trip to Vigan, Ilocos Sur always haunts us at home and then my wife got an interest to go there, so I told her that we should plan a trip this coming summer.
Then one afternoon before our tour in Lancaster New City Cavite, we saw a tv feature of Ilocos sur and norte’s local dishes and there my wife saw the bagnet and other specialty of Northern Luzon, so during the tv show, I told her that I’ve tried those food and one of my fave is the “puqui puqui” for breakfast. I said to her that this is the only food with eggplant, egg, and tomato that brings a lot of joy in me hahahaha
Then after the tour, we have our dinner inside Lancaster New City Cavite, they have a commercial establishments filled with a grocery and fast food.

Here we ate at Stoops Bagnet Ilocos restaurant.
I asked the fast food staff if this is a local resto, then they told me that they have branches in Manila and Makati, the one here in Lancaster New City Cavite is the only branch outside Manila.
wow!!!

We have Bagnetified resto in SM City Bacoor, but for me, Stoops is very special because they serve not only bagnet, but also the specialty food from Ilocos region.
I heard about Sinanglaw as an Ilocos version of a Papaitan, I haven’t tried that before so I ordered one for my dinner.
I like the pricing of their meal, is affordable and its just right.

Stoops Bagnet Ilocos inside Lancaster New City Cavite is small, the resto is always full during dinner time, so lucky you if ever you spotted a seat for your and for your companion.
Its crowded inside and we tried to fit 4 of us in one table.

Here’s my Bagnet Meal
PHP 110
Im not sure if they cooked it in a traditional way, or maybe did it with some shortcuts, but the taste is good and its not too oily or fatty.
No need to dip it in a gravy, an Ilocos Vinegar is a good partner for a bagnet.

My seatmate’s Boneless Bangus (PHP 135)

Sinanglaw (PHP 65)
Its my first time to taste this, it tastes like Papaitan, but there’s less bitterness compare to the strong bitterness and creamy flavor of a Papaitan.
Cow’s innards in a Sinanglaw is good too.
Just like a regular papaitan

Our partner that night for our meal hahahah
The vinegar in Ilocos is the best!

Looking at my left view…spotted my blogger friends ready to devour their bagnet meals hahahahah

Busog!
