As
the first of the two known big gaming events happening Manila this year. ESL One
Manila is gearing up for a real big weekend for Dota 2 fans in the Philippines.
Set as the very first $250,000 Dota 2 tournament in South East Asia. ESL One
Manila will be host to a definitely jam-packed weekend as eight teams will duke
it out in the MOA Arena to earn that Dota 2 ESL One title.
Each team that will take part in the tournaments this weekend was represented
by their captains during the recently concluded presscon held at the Grand
Ballroom in City of Dreams. The presscon was also graced by Ulrich Schulze, ESL
VP for Pro Gaming, Ariel P. Fermin EVP and Consumer Business Head for PLDT and
Smart, Ronald “Roro” Robins CEO of Mineski and Marlon Marcelo, Mineski VP for
Marketing and Events.
The eight teams represented during the presscon are: Ohaiyo of Fnatic, Puppey
from Team Secret, swindlemelonzz from compLexity, Scandal from Empire, Julz of
Mineski, Innocence from Wings, Kuroky from Team Liquid and LaNm from
Ehome.
TV5 are set to broadcast the grand finals of ESL One Manila, as was announced
at Mineski.Sport5’s launch campaign, hosted by PLDT Home Fibr and Smart. The
local television station’s broadcast of the esports spectacle is said to be in
hopes of the local title contenders making their way to the final and lifting
the trophy on the evening of April 25th for the whole nation to witness.
All games leading up to the grand final will be covered live on AksyonTV in
their entirety.
