Star Movies is notorious on organizing 24 hours movie marathon, they are the only company who got the balls to challenge pinoy movie buffs to a non stop 24 hours of movie marathon with challenges. I remember last time back in their previous years, they challenge all movie marathon participant to eat first in a buffet, then eat an ice cream inside the cinema while the air con is on full blast and then watch a nap-prone movie like The God Father 1,2, 3 and other movies.
It’s a successful movie event but they didn’t stop conceptualizing for more movie marathon challenges.
This year, they changed the rules and they want to see their movie marathon participants go dancing on the floor while watching a musical movie.
Star Movies Move-A-thon is not your ordinary movie marathon contest, the rule is that you will watch the movie – in standing position – then you dance with the movie while it plays music or starts to show some singing and musical performances. When I arrived in the media event – which actually is the start of the competition, I saw the movie marathon goers dancing the entire time with the movie – DIRTY DANCING. At first I thought it was a flash mob gimmick..but it was not.. All of them are so serious. still active and energetic with the dancing.
But I just saw a Facebook post this 9am (2nd day of the contest), 11 hours after the post – they now have 2 teams to compete in a sudden death match.. OMG!!
Grand winner will receive PHP 200,000
