Blog commentary
photo op with a baby Stegosaurus
I got invited for the press conference and also a short preview of Dinos Alive!, I got excited and become a kid again, because during my youngling times I am very amazed and a big fan of Dinosaurs, Anything that is dinosaurs or prehistoric topics from books, to comics, magazines, toys are part of my life and my collection. Thanks to my Dad and Mom who introduced me early for learning about these giant lizards. I remember that during my grade school days, I have this pet dinosaur at home. Hmm it’s a toy, hahahah. It’s a green rubbery plastic stegosaurus toy. Me and my sister named the stegosaurus toy “Amoy”, until now stegosaurus is my favorite dinosaurs, and whenever I see the creature in any movies, cartoons, comics or exhibit, I feel happy and love the dinosaur so much.
Ok back to the story. After the press con and getting to know more about the exhibit, the organizers brought us inside the site of Dinos Alive!, and its nearly constructed and everyone inside are still busy finishing the touches of all construction jobs, because the park will be opened on November 28, 2008 for public, while for the press opening it will be on the 27th. I got thrilled inside the park when I saw a giant T-rex skeleton and a triceratops nearby, I just asked the people there if it is okay to take some photos, and then they allow us since all of the people inside are member of the press and medias, and I’m glad that they invited us bloggers to have a little preview on what’s inside the Dinos Alive!. Thanks to Juned for inviting me to join with them, and its great to hang out with fellow bloggers like Noemi and Lace. I think we are the only bloggers there, but it was a different experience inside, although that the ventilation is not yet functional, but they installed some worm exhaust to blow some air and give some short ventilation for the people inside.
I didn’t expected that the venue is big, I got tired a little, but I enjoyed seeing the gigantic dinosaurs which are placed in some of their designated spots, others were not yet completely assembled and we just touched the part of the dinosaurs and it feels like that the skin they have is real. I played as paleontologist myself during grade school and I team up with my sister and we collect and analyze rocks and minerals, but today, kids will sure enjoy being a young scientist as they can be part for a prehistoric dig adventures, they can dig in a desert like venue and search for bones and parts of dinosaurs.
I just saw the area of the food court, and it is big!, not sure if it is outdoor or indoor, because the area has no roof, so maybe they will put the tent there soon. Also there are kiddie rides and funny robotic animals. They just told us that it is okay to take photos or video once you are inside the park, but there are some slight problems like if you exit the park, it means that there is no turning back, they will not provide any stamps or stickers for you to come back when you exit the venue. So they just say that it is better to be prepared and enjoy a long stay inside the Dinos Alive!.
I just got a talk with the bloggers and some press, we were thinking that kids who haven’t briefed well about dinosaurs might get scared when they see a replica of it. For kids who are big dino fans will enjoy the most, but others should brief well their kids that these things are not real and they are robotic dinosaurs. Because I got a freaky experience in my first encounter of a robotic dino aahahaha, it was hilarious alright. In all siblings, they got in contact with a robotic dino ,but this year at the Dinos Alive! Will be my first ever contact with replica robotic dinos hahaha.
