check out this event and it is the largest international environmental conference and fair, and thanks to Japan Foundation Manila Office for sending their program list for March 19-22, event will be held at SMX. “Eco-Products International Fair 2009: Sustainable Production, Sustainable Consumption, Sustainable Future”
The Japan Foundation, Manila (JFM) fuses nature with art, as it participates in the Eco-Products International Fair 2009, March 19-22, at the SMX Convention Center, Pasay City. It joins key international players in the largest international environmental fair by providing the cultural/ artistic component. ( read more below )

Art Installation/ Photo Exhibition
An art installation of environmental landscape photographs featuring the World Heritage Sites of Japan and the Philippines.
The exhibition will run from March 19 until March 22, at the SMX Hall 4.

"Brutus" is a fictionalized retelling of facts about the environmental degradation of Mindoro: two Mangyan teen-agers are paid by illegal loggers to smuggle wood to the lowlands. They hide them underneath a bamboo raft and float them for several days through dangerous white water. What follows is a journey that tests their friendship and their values; and opens up their eyes to a world new to them; a world dictated by ideologies and material need.

"ABONG" means small home in some mountain tribes.
"ABONG/Small Home" is an epitome of this world besieged by natural and human influences, poverty and affluence, mercy and intolerance. While gently depicting the life and familial bonds of a Japanese-Filipino family - the plentiful life of their Igorot tradition contiguous with nature and the poverty and loneliness they face in the city - this movie splendidly constructs an allegorical world of satire.
