Good news to all: A Filipina is now making waves in Hollywood as an international publicist!
Joyce A. Ramirez, known as the “queen of international PR,” has carved an international career by helping publicize some of the most popular TV shows in the world such as LOST (from Season 1 to Finale and has worked and met the cast in Oahu led by Josh Holloway, Evangeline Lilly, Michael Emerson, Terry O’Quin, among others), NCIS:LA’s Chris O’Donnell, LL Cool J, Linda Hunt at Paramount Studios, Fil-Am producer/director Dean Devlin, CSI’s Anthony Zuiker and former Disney exec Jon Niermann for his regional project called Project: Lotus. She is set to work in Hawaii soon with actors Alex O’Loughlin (who starred with Jennifer Lopez in The Back Up Plan), Scott Caan (Entourage and Ocean’s Thirteen) and Daniel Dae Kim (Lost) for the Asian season premiere of Hawaii Five-O. (more below)
In the local front, her face is now seen in the advertising campaign of Seattle Best Coffee’s 10 Best Customers and was recently selected by designer Arielle Agasang for the coffee table book, “A List: 100 Filipino Luminaries,” a showcase of the best and brightest public figures that have shown world class Filipino achievement. The book will be launched this October and includes a powerhouse of stars including Lea Salonga, Piolo Pascual, Manny Pacquiao, Imelda Marcos, Paeng Nepomuceno, Rico Hizon, Arnel Pineda, Dante Brillantes Mendoza, among others.
More recently, Joyce helped produce the Philippines leg of The Amazing Race Asia Season 4 (shown on AXN every Thursday at 9PM) which will be aired this October featuring the very colorful Tessa Prieto Valdes as Pitstop greeter. “We shot the challenges in Legazpi City and the pitstop at Misibis Bay,” she shares. “Hopefully it will help put our country’s tourism back to life.”
Now it has been reported that she was offered by a leading network to host her own travel show. So is Joyce ready to face the camera and go main stream soon?
“I am hesitant because I am vain and not sure if I am telegenic enough to pass my own personal screen test,” she laughs. “There are women who are stick thin in person but looks fat on TV plus I am used to working behind the scenes so the change is quite nerve wracking! So let’s wait and see.”
Incidentally, Joyce is said to have the funniest tweets online so you can now follow her on
