March
29, 2014 – Yup, I’m including this in my blog post series. I think there’s a
growing community of skateboarders in Baguio. I saw these skaters for the 2nd
time here at Wright Park, they do skateboarding and grinding on custom made
rail. They brought their own rail and placed it here at the smooth pavement of
Wright Park.
There are security guards inside the park, and I guess they
are playing the xtreme sport legally.. I just wish that we can have this same
treatment here in Manila, where parks are open to the public and you can do
skate boarding or inline skating without any guards chasing you and saying that
is “bawal yan dito”
I showed this sport to my son, because he wants to do
skateboarding when he grows up. During my teens, I tried skateboarding for a
shortwhile by borrowing skateboard from a friend, but then I shifted my sport to
aggressive inline skating, because there are lots of access in buying inline
skates aka rollerblades during the late 90’s.

If you are a skater. I
suggest you visit Wright Park and play with the skaters of
Baguio!
