Mercure Hotel Manila Ortigas just opened few months ago in the middle of Ortigas Center and infront of San Miguel Bldg, we didn't felt its presence and its a surprise to see another French hotel brought here and operated by Accor Hotels. Ortigas Center is one of the busiest city in the metro and heavily visited by business people, so adding a new Mercure hotel in the line up means that there will be more hotel stay choices for backpackers, staycationers and business travelers.
Mercure Hotel Manila Ortigas invited me to check out their hotel, the rooms, the lobby and restaurant, This blog post will serve as a tour for those who are looking for a place to stay within Ortigas, Pasig and Mandaluyong City area. I badly needed this kind of hotel and upon checking their rates....its lower than the popular hotels around.
I actually took this building photo of Mercure Hotel Manila Ortigas (that's what they call it, to brand their hotel and its location) after I crossed the street in San Miguel avenue, at first I thought that they've acquired an old building and turn it into a hotel, but then when I saw this tall building, I remembered that there was no building standing there when the last I time I was in Ortigas center.
It means that they constructed a new one just for Mercure Hotel. Also I did some research and I've read some news that there will be Mercure Hotel branches will soon to open in Ermita, Manila and in Dumaguete City (

Arriving in Mercure.
I was expecting to find a very big door, but when I arrived infront of the Mercure Hotel, I just noticed this two door entrance for the hotel.
When you walked infront of the building, you wont even notice that there's a new hotel.
Upon entering you'll be greeted by hotel security and the concierge staff, but that's not yet the lobby or front desk. You need to take the elevator to the 2nd floor for the main front desk.
Photo above is their nice hotel light.
Spotted an artwork deco on the wall, not sure if thats an image of France or Italy.
The front desk is at the 2nd floor. You can check in and check out here, or book a room.
There's a small cafe near the front desk. You can set up your meeting here or just visit for a coffee. According to Mercure hotel staff, they are now visited by freelancers every day, they stay here for coffee while working on their laptop.
The see through glass wall of Mecure Hotel Manila Ortigas welcomes natural sunlight, and also you can see its neighbor -- San Miguel building.
Thanks to Mr Edroy Lim of Mercure Hotel Manila Ortigas for inviting us for an afternoon tour around their hotel.
At the 3rd floor you'll find the Kalesa restaurant and bar. Kalesa restaurant offers Filipino cuisine in modern and traditional version.
Hotel guest eat their breakfast buffet here, and also order ala carte meals.
At the kitchen area of Kalesa, we were starstruck to meet one of their chef, -- Chef Alyssa Danica R. Morado
We also met Kalesa's executive chef, Chef Patricia Mendoza Mesina (at the far right of the photo).
I just learned that she's from Pampanga, so It revealed why the food is so good and delicious! and according to Chef Pat, that some of the recipes used are from their family's recipe that was used for several generations and now they are being shared and tasted here at Kalesa.
Our dining table -- to try their breakfast and also ala carte food
Table set up
I really like the natural light passing through the glass wall of Kalesa restaurant, this gave me a much more energetic feel and try to feel the sunshine while I enjoy the good food at Kalesa
I will posting a separate blog post for Kalesa restaurant, so stay tuned for more food photos and offerings of Mercure Hotel's Kalesa restaurant.

I haven't tried a staycation yet at Mercure Hotel Manila Ortigas, but I'm going to get a schedule soon .Also they don't have a swimming pool, gym or salon. I asked if they have plans in the future to add those ammenities, but they've answered that the hotel have no plans yet.
Mercure Hotel Manila Ortigas is a hotel that you can sleep + eat + run for your business trips or for you to stay when you got stuck in traffic in EDSA or just want to relax and have a quiet me-time for awhile.
Thanks for reading and watch out for my staycation post next time!
