Ramen houses and restaurants are booming in the mid of 2011, and its popularity rises once more at the end of that year and continues to boom this 2013. I'm a ramen fan since I first tasted the authentic ramen noodle in a Japanese restaurant in Katipunan and also in Tomas Morato area. Its one of the most memorable food for me because a beautiful Singaporean lady challenges me in year 2000, if I'm a real man, I should try the chili and spicy ramen, I tried it with my eyes closed and it was the hot and spicy food that I ever tasted, I thought that i'm going to die because of the chili after taste, then the Singaporean chick laughed and ordered the same spicy ramen, she tasted it and said that it wasn't that hot and spicy, then she poured more chili powder in it and eat it with a smile. I then realized that in their country, spicy food are common and part of their culture, because of the cold weather, chili and spicy food are helping them to warm their body. Whenever I'm in a Japanese resto, I always look for their ramen selection and also price, trying to match the old ramen house that I love.

Different kinds of ramen amazes me, I grew up with it by cooking those instant ramen, during my elementary days as a boy scout, I got introduced to that instant ramen with hot water only, I saw it with my fellow boy scout mates during breakfast, he poured hot water to that instant ramen in a styrofoam bowl. When I went back to home, I told my dad to buy me those instant ramens.

The hunt for ramen in my life continues, the old ramen house in Katipunan closed down and ramen was gone for more than ten years. I only enjoy other ramen houses in malls, but the ramen experience during old times were the best. But I give chance to other ramen houses with different concept, all of them are creative and recipes are good.

Here I got introduced to Miso Ten: Ramen and Tempura restaurant. Its a new concept of authentic Japanese ramen and tendon, I raise my eyebrows and tried their food if its really authentic, but some says that its a modern take of authentic Japanese ramen and tendon, I let go of that concept and continues my ramen hunger and see if this will give me a new flavor.

Yakisoba (Php 180)

Tan Tan Mien (Php 275)
This is my favorite here in Miso Ten, a teaspoon sip of the soup bring fireworks to my brains, I reacted after tasting and I like this flaovr. Ramen with ground pork in a chili spice soup and sesame oil. But I'm not sure if the flavor can be replicated with a use of sesame oil to other ramens.

5pcs of Tempura (Php 380 )
I like their tempura, the tiger prawn is fat and less crumbs but crispy to the crunchy level. Perfect taste if you dip this with a sweet tendon sauce.

Foodie friends trying Miso Ten with Myke Soon marketing boy for I-Foods Inc.

Miso Ten gave us a new ramen and tempura concept restaurant, now I know where to go eat my ramen and tempura, its not that special or a perfect ramen house for me, but the flavor I want is here in Miso Ten. I think they should create more ramen recipes, having 5 kinds of ramen is not enough, from an old ramen house that I know offers up to at least 8 kinds of ramen flavor and hope they can include an affordable ramen price below P200. I'll visit Miso Ten again for my next ramen hunger season.
