Eveready celebrated their 110th anniversary at the music hall of SM Mall of Asia, the event started in a presentation of the various contribution of Eveready and being the 1st and leader in battery and flashlight, I didn't know in the first place that Eveready started as an American brand in 1900's and then they developed the AAA battery around in 1911, first 9V batt in 1956 and the first alkaline batt in 1957. The logo also started in a popular print ad that a child lighting a flashlight to a mother cat with her kittens which give big result in selling lots of batteries that time, the ad was creatred by Frances Tipton Hunter. galeng di ba?! and then the logo changed into the Eveready cat with a nine number, gives a symbol of nine lives. There are many first in Eveready and i will say that they are the 1st to have a zero mercury and cadmium battery and in alkaline, and in 2004 they have the world's first AAA lithium battety with the longest lasting AAA in the world. I also loved their rechargeable green battery and I recommend it to my friends as it gives a lot of energy to my DSLR and other media devices.
They also introduced the LED flashlight, and it was an awesome that they gave two set to us, the LED flashlight consumes low energy, but it performs well and gives a bright light, and theres no need to change the LED bulb, because it won't die in a long run. They have a promo in some hardware stores like in Handyman, Truevalue, Ace Hardware and Hardware Workshop, all you have to do is bring your used flashlight and dead batteries to exchange new LED flashlights and new Eveready batteries. This effort is in line with Eveready’s Celebration of its 110th year anniversary and making every Pinoy prepared and ready for emergencies.
And at the main event of "Eveready: Kasama sa Pagbuo ng Isang Laging Handang Pilipinas" and also in time for Independence Day, they gave tribute to families who uses the brand for decades and also showcased several talented groups, school and service oriented group like the Philippine Airforce Marching Band, Philippine Marine Core Marching Band, Metro Manila Development Authority Marching Band, and Silent Drill Performing Group; and Sugarfree.
The main activity started with different students and marching band performs a formation exhibition and they created a LED flashlight show in the dark and formed our Philippine flag and later on the Eveready slogan, medyo kabado ako at first because those cheerleaders are jumping in the air and they performed well in the group formation and I'm very impressed, I clapped all the way after clicking my camera to get some photos.
