Makati, Philippines (April 10, 2013) – Last April 5 and 6, the Carlos P. Romulo Auditorium of the RCBC Plaza was brought to life with music and dance as it held the "¡PIAZZOLLA! Not Only Tango" Concert in honor of the works and pieces of Argentinean composer and father of Nuevo Tango, Astor Piazzolla, almost 20 years after his passing.
After many sold-out shows held in Singapore and Armenia, ArtistVenture finally brought the concert to the Philippines, introducing the Filipino nation to the breathtakingly beautiful Argentinean culture, music, and dance of Nuevo Tango.
Argentinean composer Astor Piazzolla (1921-1992) and his "Nuevo Tango" music, a twist on the traditional tango style of music, was played throughout the night by various international artists including Pantastico on classical guitar, the Philippines' own addition to the roster of world-renowned artists. Creative choreography complementing the music was performed by Zie of Singapore, founder of Tango Theater in Singapore, and Asmik Akopyan of Russia, finalist in the London Ceroc Dance Competition. Both dancers brought to life Piazzolla's astounding masterpieces, accompanying and interpreting pieces such as Libertango, Ave Maria, La Paloma among others.
