Last
October 9, 2013 was the re-launch of The Tap Room bar of Manila Hotel. I’m not
familiar with this bar before, I visited Manila Hotel many times in the past but
I never heard about this bar. I think the re-launch is like bringing back the
old bar’s energy and now ready to face the new generation of bar goers. I’m not
sure also what was the scene here before and after the re-launch, they now say
that the Tap Room bar is a new gentleman’s watering hole in Manila.
I
went to the re-launch and check out what’s inside the Tap Room Bar.
Here’s
the Tap Room Bar in Manila Hotel.
according to Manila Hotel’s
website
”The Taproom, with its old English pub-inspired interiors, dark
timber ceiling, and plush armchairs accented by a magnificent Tiffany bay
window, offers a unique soulful and friendly atmosphere, making it the perfect
place to unwind after a tiring day’s work. It offers an extensive selection of
alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks to accompany our sumptuous bar menu delights.

the Manila Hotel's 100 years of existence last year 2012. Last October 6, we
celebrate our 101st founding anniversary. But in time for 100 years last year,
we opened the doors again of Manila Hotel with our new renovated rooms,I hope
you have seen it and stayed in our full renovated rooms, its the only hotel in
the country to have a television inside the bathroom, so you can truly enjoy
yourself here even you are in the bathroom.
We have our own Cafe Ilang
Ilang, its different from the old Ilang Ilang, the Cafe Ilang Ilang is just
around the corner at the back of this Tap Room bar, we also have the Mabuhay
Palace, our Chinese restaurant which serves excellent Chinese cuisine. We have
renovated our Centennial Hall, and we're refurbishing the other function rooms,
too.
It means that we are doing everything to update and improve the hotel in full
scale, tonight we are reformatting The Tap Room, as before it was only a quiet
music and now we have live bands here at the Tap Room. This is part of our
continuous effort to update and to make your stay here truly pleasant and
memorable, I hope you can dance here with the music in a little while and if you
are hungry, you can go to Cafe Ilang Ilang, we have the best international
buffet.
If you will stay here in our Manila Hotel, we have our 6-3-0 special promo,
The 1st night stay that you pay for Php6,000 for two and with free breakfast
for two and on the 2nd night you just pay for Php3,000 also for two, and on the
3rd night of stay, you don't pay for anything, the room and everything is FREE,
and you are entitled for a 50% off for lunch or dinner, so that's a treat, we
are doing this as a way of thanking our friends, our guests, for continuously
supporting us all these years, so enjoy the evening, this is just a beginning of
the reformatted Tap Room Bar of Manila Hotel. “
Inside
is very warm and old style of a bar. I’m sure some oldies out there are still
looking for this kind of setting, but for us younger bar goers, this is the real
bar thing!
The re-launch event for media, press and bloggers are in 80’s
attire. I didn’t know that there’s an attire for this event, I’m glad that I
brought my black jacket with me, I just learned about the attire after Enzo
mentioned it to me while we are on the way to Manila Hotel. I told him…hey look
my porma can be like those male dancers in Grease movie hahaha.
There’s
a disco mirror ball up above hahaha

The
Tap Room bar is a perfect place for hotel guest and walk ins to have a social
gathering and meet up with new people, at first I didn’t even know the purpose
of having a gentleman’s watering hole venue in Manila, but then after I
experienced the Tap Room bar’s aura, (for two times) I finally realized that men
who are young and old deserves a break, they need to meet new people around them
and start to have a conversation over a nice cold beer and live jazz rock music.
