Singer Studio, which is now on its seventh year, is more known for its customized voice lessons, being the first in the country, than anything else . Its head teacher, Jojo Acosta, Rivermaya's official voice coach, has made one-on-one lessons the norm, so as to provide personalized sessions to the varying skills and preferences of his students.
To further support music enthusiasts, Singer Studio has recently begun its workshop series on ways to earn in the industry. With capable experts mentoring the participants, each workshop is focused on imparting useful knowledge which they could use to jumpstart a career in that field.
Coming off a Songwriting series by Francis De Veyra of Radioactive Sago Project, Singer Studio is set on the upcoming one-day workshop on Concert/ Live Event Photography for October 26. There will be a lecture-field practice during the day at the Katipunan studio and will continue with a live gig coverage at Route 196 Bar at night.
At the helm would be Bubuy Balangue, who has been a hobbyist and a semi-professional photographer for the past seven years. He has photographed numerous celebrities, travelled, and photographed some of Europe's well-celebrated scenes, and services some of Studio 23's photography needs while holding a position with its creative team.
He has mounted an exhibit in Singapore, a 2-man exhibit with fellow-photographer Joel Bondoc at Filipinas Heritage Library, and a recently-concluded 1-man show at the Bliss Cafe in Baguio City entitled Subway and Street Scenes of Europe.
Workshop Fee is Php 3,000.
Succeeding workshops would be on Music Writing, Arranging for Band & Ensemble, Record Producing, Sound Engineering, and Intro to Music Artist Management.
