Another first in the cinema industry here in and country, you know that SM Cinema is one of the leaders in giving us a comfy and entertaining cinema experience, they are known to bring the first IMAX theater, digital cinema, the Winema interactive cinema and now the e-ticketing service. all you need to do is visit www.smcinema.com to register yourself and get your own account, then select a movie and cinema venue, then pay the movie fee using your credit card or Globe G-cash, then you will receive a SMS Bcode to your cellphone, you need to save that because its your e-ticket for the movie. Then after getting your e-ticket and schedule of your movie, proceed to the SM Cinema of your choice and look for the SM Cinema e-ticket machine.
When you are infront of the e-ticket machine, open your phone with that SMS Bcode and place the screen of your phone on top of that red light, the machine will read the SMS Bcode of your phone and then the ticket will be printed after a few seconds. Also theres an option that you can bring a print out of the Bcode after receiving it from your email.
so easy to use, no need to fall in line. You can now reserve or buy tickets early before watching the movie.

I'm really glad that SM Cinema just changed their website, I remember that their old website is so delayed in updating the movie list, promos and events, but sometimes I still go there just to update myself in grabbing movie schedules and news, especially when it comes to IMAX schedules. Bringing in mobile commerce will work here because everyone use their mobile phones in their everyday lives, even me, I can't leave home without my cellphone. But its great that they include a print out of e-tickets that will be receive through email, this will work too, and I'm also a go for print out, because it will be your last resort if ever your phone is lost or battery dead.
They mentioned that there will be no lines in buying tickets, but I predict that there will be long lines soon at the e-ticketing machines, it will be a rare case, but I know everyone will use the online reservation from the website if the movie is a sure block buster. I know most buyers will be targeting the Tron: Legacy movie this December 2010.
