Kenneth Cobonpue (Furniture Designer) at Design Talks, Ayala Museum


Kenneth Cobonpue is a renowed furniture designer based in Cebu City. A graduate of the Pratt Inst. in New York, Kenneth has won numerous awards and international recognition for his work in natural fibers and craft. His designs have been featured in the prestigious International Design Yearbook, Newsweek and TIME, and newspapers such as the Intl. Herald Tribue and New York Times, Various Cobonpue designs have been showcased in full-length feature films and televisio such as Ocean 13 and CSI.

In 2005, he won the Design for Asia Award, Asia's Highest Award in 2009,
the Coup de Couer Award at Maisan et Objet in Paris.

The past few decades have seen the rise of the Filipino designer in the fields of architecture, interior and furniture design, fashion, and other applied creative endeavors. Ayala Museum and Creative Industries Initiative is proud to present DesignTalks, a lecture series that features important designers who will talk about their works and the thinking processes that went into their development. Noted designers in the fields of interior and furniture design, product design, fashion, architecture, and graphic design have been invited to give presentations and answer questions about their work.

DesignTalks allows museum-goers to listen directly to design professionals who shape our environment and influence how we look at our world.

Furniture designer Kenneth Cobonpue will be the inaugural speaker of DesignTalks on April 7 from 4:30PM to 5:30PM at the Ground Floor Lobby. Mr. Cobonpue will be talking about his works, influences, and future projects. An exhibition of his selected works will also be on display on the day of the talk.
