Seafood Island and Marciano’s official resto launch in SM Southmall

I went to this intimate food fest with our fellow foodie bloggers and marketing people from Seafood Island and Marciano’s few weeks ago and its about their official opening of both resto in SM Southmall. We know already that they opened up few months ago and I didn’t know that from those months they are still on their soft opening stage, I guess they already perfected the food and service that’s why they decided to have a simultaneous launch in the same day. I travel to SM Southmall coming from my home here in Cavite, and I didn’t expected that the traffic here in Cavite is much worse than the traffic in Las Pinas, instead of having a 45 minute travel time, I experience a 1 1/2 travel time coming from Cavite.

But all the traffic pain was gone when this food from Seafood Island greeted me, it’s a Tali beach boodle meal from Seafood Island and it’s one of the most favorite boodle food ordered by diners.

Here’s the Tali beach boodle food from Seafood Island, I just grabbed this photo from their Facebook page, it’s the complete food meal with lots of sea food and meat.

But I arrive 2 hours late that day and here’s the Tali beach that greeted me.. ahhahaha
it says “ you are late!! the foodies ate here first” lol

But that’s okay, when I logged in to their table, all I can hear is a foodie field report from Fitz, Don and Iris and also from Ms. Xchosa (marketing girl of the resto) that they devour the Tali beach inch by inch and they even used their hands and no spoon and fork in eating, so I was there looks like a kawawang puppy waiting for the next foodie meal hahaha.

I’m glad that Ms. Xchosa prepared something from me, it’s the same Tali beach, minus the boodle set up, I ate it with my own style, but it was meter by meter hahahahah.

There’s the tilapia fish, grilled eggplant, mussels, squid, shrimps.

and some more…

The most favorite food here is the squid, I like the why it was grilled and the softness of the squid is perfect, I just don’t like too munch biting and munching whenever I eat squid, but its just perfect and I want to eat more of their grilled squid. The grilled eggplant is the most hated food for me, but the Seafood Island version makes it more yummy when I dipped it to a special bagoong sauce and that sauce coming from another food with veggies, I forgot on what it is called. I ate the eggplant last after all seafood are gone in my plate hahahah.

Seafood Island specializes sea food in big platter serving, for a price of around P1,299 good for 5-6 person, or a price of P965 for a group of 3-4 person. That’s the pricing range of the food there at Seafood Island. Also I tried the Boracay Feast and Dapitan’s Pride boodle meal and it’s the best too! Both meals are around a price range of P700 good for 3-4 persons.

So if you want to organize yourself a one good food fest with your family and friends, try it here in Seafood Island

After Seafood Island, we went to its neighbor restaurant, our next foodie adventure awaits here in Marciano’s Pizza Pasta and Steak restaurant, its just located on the opposite side of the wall of Seafood Island, they are both operated under one food group of company.

The dining area is a little small, but its quite okay for 4-5 person per table, there are lots of tables at the al fresco dining area and its one of the perfect dining venue at night and since they have musicians playing outside at night and sometimes they have a cartoon artist that you can hire to draw you a portrait on the spot. It’s a nice resto that gives a little taste on what you can experience in Italy.

That day we encounter this eat all you can pizza for only P399. I’m not sure if it’s a special offer for Thanksgiving day, but I hope that they can offer this in a seasonal basis, like for example they can have a 2013 new year eat all you can pizza. I want to try it because I love the taste of their brick oven thin crust pizza and also their creamy pasta.

The resto has a wine bar and you can order a red wine or sparkling wine to your pasta, pizza or steak. I haven’t tried their steak yet, but I included that already in my must try food here in SM Southmall. I’ll visit them next time.

The awesome encounter here is with the Italian Chef Giorgio Buciarelli, he told us that he worked before in some restos that we know and I can say that the pizza style he created looks like from the other resto, but the difference here is that the pizza here in Marciano’s are much delicious. He told me that pizzas here in Manila are not 100 percent original, he also mentioned that our style here can’t match the pizza style in Italy, when he started to teach on how to make pizza in some resto, he is surprised that some of the cook and chef didn’t know how to make pizza, so he started to be a consultant to other restos and now he is a mainstain here at Marciano’s, he lives here in our country for almost 18 years and the only joke that he got me was…. “I’m Giorgio….if there’s Giorgio Armani…then I am Giorgio no money!” hahahahh

Chef Giorgio Buciarelli treated us with a nice Adam Sandler Four Cheese pizza, it’s the heaviest pizza for me, it falls in my tummy so quickly and we surrender after one bite, I ate the rest of the 2 pcs of pizza, so yummy and I didn’t top it with catsup or hot sauce, the cheese it the flavor and it’s the life of the pizza. Thanks Chef!

The launching of the resto is celebrated with lots of guests, celebrities, media and bloggers, they have a live singing act at the al fresco dining, performing bossa nova tunes.

Its great that their pizza making area is located at the back of the resto, there’s no special wall or glass divider, you can watch your pizza here created on the spot for you. Kids will love to watch their pizza being prepared and it will serve as an educational activity for them to see on how pizza are created.

I’m not sure why he didn’t added more tomato sauce, then he placed lots of cheese on that corner and spread it all over like magic.
