Nuvali Dirt Weekend this April26-28, 2013 - mountain bike dirt race and road to SEA GAMES

Nuvali is the host once more for a mountain bike dirt race for this year,  - the Dirt Weekend Invitational is a race sanctioned by the Philcycling and UCI. The event race under the UCI format includes Cross Country Olympics, Cross Country Team Relay and Four cross.

According to Philcyling Jojo Villa, that the race this weekend will be their search for the best mountain bike rider that can be considered to qualify for the cross country race and other category , and will compete to represent our country for the SEA GAMEs in Myanmar this 2013.

I just learned that you need to have a Philcycling license, at first I thought that this mountain bike dirt race is like those regular fun run, but its a serious race that will determine the best rider to compete at the SEA GAMES. Wow!!!  The Philcycling will be there to record all riders performance and each member will have the benefit to join other races and also compete for big racing tournaments.

I'm not familiar yet with the race terrain in Nuvali, but you can check out some photos here

Iron Man 3 now showing today April 24, 2013 (Philippines) more armor, rings and extremis

Iron Man 3 is showing today, everyone is expecting this movie since the take off of the Avengers movie. I'm not sure if this will be the last Iron Man movie, but I can see that when they apply the EXTREMIS storyline, (check the comic book and motion comic in Youtube), its the perfection of everything that bonds Iron Man and Tony Stark. Having a main villain like the Mandarin,  as one of toughest foe in comic books, this will bring us to the next storyline of what will be his connection for the upcoming storyline of the Avengers 2 movie. We don't have any clues yet, but later on we will find it out and see if it will connect to another Iron Man movie.

According to comic book writer Warren Ellis via Twitter, he said that there's another after credit scenes and Marvel did it again, I think its an open clue for the next movie -- Thor 2 , Captain America 2 and Avengers 2 movie, or maybe....  Ant Man movie.

check out the video featurette below to know more about the Extremis

My reaction and comments after watching STAR TREK: INTO DARKNESS 1st 30 min preview in IMAX

- spoiler free post-

Star Trek:Into Darkness movie will be showing in Philippine cinemas on May 15, 2013, and that's a few weeks away and we're still having some Iron Man 3 tantrums, but when I saw the first 30 minute of the movie as a preview  for the media at the IMAX theater in SM City North EDSA, all I can say that my hype for Star Trek replaces the arc reactor of Tony Stark, I don't know why, but the marketing stint for sci fi movies like Star Trek are a big hit because we Pinoys love space adventure, and in this movie they showed to us a non stop action of space exploration and adventure... I go mad whenever I see space scenes that are later on turned into reality.. Just like the space jump scene from the 1st Star Trek (2009) movie, were Kirk, Sulu and their team did a space jump back to a planet, and then jump to 2012 in reality, we got also the first man to do space jump and broke the sound barrier for the first time. Here in the 2nd movie there will be more high tech concepts that might take off to reality.

Going back to the movie, JJ Abrams showed up to the big screen and talked to us, he said that this is just a preview and all elements of the movie that we will see is just temporary, and then he mentioned that this movie can be considered as a stand alone movie, I think he like to mention that if we missed the 1st movie, you can still enjoy this 2nd movie and never worry too much about the story.

From the 1st 30 min. of Star Trek: Into Darkness, they re-introduce again the role of each characters, and important crew of the "Enterprise" ship, also introduction to other supporting characters and a bit taste of the storyline.  Benedict Cumberbatch as John Harrison, the main villain in the movie started a big attack in the city and this will alarm everyone. The love and hate of Kirk and Spock still continues and the 1st action scene will give you decision as a Captain and also as a Commander. (Chris Pine as Captain James T. Kirk, Zachary Quinto as Commander Spock)

If the 1st movie brings stunning visuals and sounds, the 2nd movie bring much better, the one they showed to us is just 3D, but I expect more great visuals on the 3D version, plus watching it in IMAX 2D is already awesome! I'm already comfortable with it, but I'm interested to watch the 3D version. In IMAX everything is the movie review that I made last 2009 about the Star Trek movie, I can say that if you  are in IMAX, you'll feel that you are in space too and feel the adrenaline of the action scenes and AWESOME, planets, city, explosions, under water and etc.

We are still puzzled with Benedict Cumberbatch's character as John Harrison, I think its a new villain for this NEW ALTERNATE world of Star Trek, not sure if it will connect to the main timeline, but as they say...going to the past via time travel, it doesn't mean you went to the main timeline, but you landed into a parallel dimension of the same world of a different timeline.

Star Trek: Into Darkness 30 minutes preview..left us shouting for more..the cliffhanger scene already gave us some dreams of continuing it hahahaha. I hope its May 2013 already.

Thanks to Solar-UIP and SM Cinema for the special preview

Star Trek: Into Darkness is released thru Solar-UIP and will be showing in Philippine cinemas on May 15, 2013.

Ocean’s Harvest "seafood buffet" at Marriott Hotel Manila every Friday and Saturday nights from 6:00 p.m. to 10:30 p.m for Php 2300

I super love and enjoy the food that Marriott Cafe in Marriott Hotel Manila offers in their daily buffet. I'm a fan of their buffet and I always recommend it to my family and friends, because the service and food are always the best. I just get lucky that I'm invited always to try their new buffet set up every season, and I'm comfortable to go back there again and pay for my own buffet. I keep on coming back because they prepare the food well.

They offer the OCEAN'S HARVEST buffet, its a seafood and fresh catch of the day buffet, every Friday and Saturday from 6PM to 10:30PM, the entire buffet section is transformed into like a Ocean Surf Market Buffet. For only Php 2300, you can enjoy all kinds of seafood and fresh catch of fish, all chefs and staffs are there to help you cook your fresh catch fish and to your preferred recipe. But if you are not sure or clueless on what's the best cooking for the fish, the chefs can assist you to decide and choose the best recipe.

Enjoy the fresh salmon, tuna loin, local tanigue, pompano, talakitok, lapu-lapu, maya-maya, shellfish, jumbo prawns, half shell local scallop, local clams, jumbo squid, suahe shrimps, blue marlin, and local gindara. Just pick your selection and let the chef add more magic flavor. Best cooking is fried and steamed in soy sauce or in sweet and sour sauce.

Also on the other side of the buffet, enjoy the ready to eat seafood - slippers lobster, local blue sea crab, curacha crab, prawns, mussels, and white shells. I always request to the chef to grill my lobsters, but they refused it in the first place because they told me that the lobster get over cooked and hard to chew, I told them its okay, because I like it grilled.

I arrived an hour late for the buffet feast, but Im glad that everyone are still in the middle of digesting the seafood hahaha. I'm here with my wife Lace,  bloggerMeikah and husband and Marriott Hotel Manila Marketing Michelle Garcia aka HolaMitchy in Twitter and Instagram.

here's my wife Lace taking home a nice crabby doll

There's no limit in getting your own seafood, but be responsible and get the right serving for your meal

I'm not familiar with those fish...the parrot fish for example.
