Our Department of Tourism and local government of Kawit, Cavite joined forces to come up an awesome presentation at the Aguinaldo Shrine mansion in celebration of our 117th Philippine Independence Day this June 12, 2015. The presentation involves a 3D mapping video projected on the walls, roofs and structures of the 18th century old Aguinaldo Shrine in Kawit, Cavite.
Normally called as 3D Mapping but others call it as a projectional mapping or spatial augmented reality, it’s a blending of images, animation or videos in a custom made manner to blend in the walls of the architectural subject. The 3D mapping video show plays in sync with a symphonic music adding more drama, effect and also a story.
The mansion of General and 1st President of the Philippines. Emilio Aguinaldo, was the place when the county's Independence was declared on June 12, 1898. During the show, the entire mansion was so lively in a different way, thanks to technology of 3D mapping and projection, we saw a different structure that tells a story of inspiration and being proud as a Filipino.
The public viewing will start this June 11 – 15, 2015 at 7:30pm, 8:30pm and 9:30pm
The 3D map projection show that runs in 20 minutes will also be followed by a light and sound show at the same shrine.
Viewing is free and make sure you bring an umbrella just in case if it rains.
The lightning and video mapping of the Aguinaldo Shrine is a project of the DOT through the initiative of the LGU of Kawit, Cavite and implanted by the Tourism Infrastructure and Enterprise Authority (TIEZA) and OptimumShow Philippines Inc. The project is also supported by the National Historical Commission of the Philippines (NHCP)
For me, the 3D map show is the best ever…the best that I have seen after I viewed 5 kinds of 3D mapping show for the 5 years. I do hope that they bring this concept around the country and place our national shrine and heritage on the map once again.
This is a truly more fun way to celebrate our Independence Day, kudos to DOT and its team.
I hope they can launch a hologram show next year.
