Sarangani Bay Prime Bangus - the best and fresh bangus for your home cooking

Sarangani Bay Prime Bangus is a fresh bangus products that are sold in our local market. I didn’t know that this bangus brand is a top export product abroad, because my mom in Chicago always buy the branded Sarangani Bay Prime Bangus. Wow! That means that they bring to us the top quality fresh bangus fish meat that comes from the Sarangani, Southern Mindanao

A rep from the Sarangani Bay Prime Bangus mailed me and offered me to try their brand, I gave it a go and here’s our home cooking test and try to learn how good is their fresh bangus.

Here’s my frozen fresh bangus from Sarangani Bay Prime Bangus. They delivered this to me and they want me to try their top quality bangus

I went to their website - http://saranganibay.com.ph and Facebook page https://www.facebook.com/KusinaSarangani/ to learn more about the company behind Sarangani Bay Prime Bangus

Here’s what I’ve learned

Sarangani Bay Prime Bangus is a bangus fish kind that can be found in the lake in Sarangani, the fish are bred and cultured to perfection by Alsons Aquaculture Corporation, they mentioned that this company is the only integrated famr to market fish processing operator in the country.

They are the top producer and exporter of high quality Sarangani Bay Prime Bangus fish and they are well known around because they follow international standard to get a world class stamp by their consumers and  buyers.

Inside the styro box are the fresh frozen Sarangani Bay Prime Bangus. I did some research and the price of one boneless milkfish is at PHP 175 only. PWEDE NA!  The price is okay basta ba wag aabot ng PHP 200 and up.

My family here in Cavite cook fish almost every day, and one of the frequently cooked fish here at home is bangus fish.

Let’s give it a try!
But before I tried their fish, I was confident because the brand Sarangani Bay Prime Bangus is a popular brand to home cooks. Here at home, the brand was sometimes present in our freezer.  Our mama buy this sometimes in a local grocery.

I really like the packaging, its air tight and the bangus fish inside is frozen properly. Its not hard defrost it, because the soft meat of the boneless bangus fish will not be damaged as it unfreezes

The back label of the packaging contains some instructions on how to thaw it and also nutrition information are also posted at the back.

For our 1st home cooked meal is SINIGANG NA BANGUS

We used the Sarangani Bay Prime Bangus boneless belly milkfish - the non marinated version. This is a best kind of fish if you plan to cook it with soup. For us at home we love the boneless bangus fish in a SINIGANG SOUP BASE

Our Aunt Helen who is an expert cook at home prepared it  and added some fresh kang kong, tomatoes, okra and talong

And ohhh plus a Sinigang mix to add a soury tamarind flavor

We boil first the fish and then we added the sinigang mix, and then after a super hot boil, we added the veggies last.

For a few minutes, our sinigang sa bangus belly is ready for serving!

Here’s the sinigang na bangus. The Sarangani Bay Prime Bangus boneless belly milkfish is so tasty, meaty and fatty. I like the fatty stomach of the bangus, its one of the best to taste and eat it while you are sipping a hot soury sinigang soup on a bowl.

After 2 days, I requested that we should try the Paksiw na bangus.

So we used the Sarangani Bay Prime Bangus boneless milkfish - non marinated version, for our paksiw na bangus.

The recipe is very simple -  Just boil part water and part vinger, the bangus fish, chopped ginger and top with some Siling haba to add some soury and spice flavor.

After a quick hot boil, the paksiw na bangus is ready for serving

As usual, I’ve tasted again the meaty and fatty Sarangani Bay Prime Bangus boneless milkfish. We’re super satisfied with the taste and its thick meat.

Then after 2 days -- halata ba na may pahinga din kami ng fish. Hahah

We deep fried the Sarangani Bay Prime Bangus boneless milkfish marinated version.  Its ready to cook boneless bangus fish and it saves you already a time to fry it right away.

While frying it, we can’t avoid that some of the meat are sticking to our frying pan, we can’t avoid that because that will happen if a cold meat was cooked into a hot boiling frying oil.

But over all, the fried Sarangani Bay Prime Bangus boneless bangus marinated tastes good!
I enjoyed the fatty meat and also the boneless meat. It was like living a luxury when you eat a boneless bangus because you don’t have to take out of the thin bones.

But there some part that there are some bones, but that’s okay, especially the fin part, there’s a bone there, just be careful in chewing it when you get that part.

We also cooked the Sarangani Bay Prime Bangus boneless smoked bangus version, but I don’t have a photo of it,  but I can say is that their smoked version tastes good too. The old folks here at home loved it.

Sarangani Bay Prime Bangus sells in our local supermarket these kinds of bangus fish meat

- Boneless milkfish unseasoned
