and because that I’m no longer comfortable working for the event that I’m nursing it for almost 5 years already.
its time for me to say Good bye for the Philippine Toys, Hobbies and Collectibles Convention aka Toy Con.
its been a good year handling the big event and thus dubbed as the local version of the Comicon San Diego, and its a great event that I learned more on how to become a professional in handling and managing, its a big learning ground for being proactive in everything.
I want to leave, because that I’m no longer happy in organizing it and no longer comfortable if I’m going to do another one for next year.. My big decision is final.
this 2008 will be my last Toy Con.
so for this year, lets make it big.. the greatest and the grandest convention in the Philippines ever!
after doing for AnimeXplosion 2000 : 1st Philippine Anime Convention and Komikon : 1st Philippine Komiks Convention. its now time for me to close my book for the Toy Con : 1st Philippine Toys, Hobbies and Collectibles Convention.
My energy is gone, but maybe a new spark might come out soon.

I'm back for a little production note, as i post here in my blog on what I'm doing. I'm just waiting to finish my upload of a banner tarp needed to be printed today, and because that I'm using my gmail for attaching a 14 mb file, I need wait the file to be uploaded correctly and make sure it is finished. As you can see above, that's my last 7 task for this week, but I need more time to finish that 18 pages toycon magazine, but if everything fails, i'll stick back to the 12 pages or lesser than
that in order for me to send it back to our print provider.
below is my calendar, so all whole week are blocked off, and those dates are composed of deadlines and also it serves as my time table in everything, thanks to iGoogle for providing me these digital notepad and calendar, so everytime I surf the net, check my email, I'm always updated on my next task. hmmm...I don't know if I'm organized but my main mission is to finish all task and make it the biggest Toy con or convention in your life this year.
I know you are excited, but me... hmmm. Im excited to finish all these tasks ahhahaha.
during my break, here I am playing Pacman while I finish the uploads of some files or wait a render job in photoshop or adobe premiere.
this is my 2nd game, I do suck whenever I play on the first set, but yeah! Pacman is my all time favorite since atari games came in my life.

I got the copy! check out below for my REVIEW and preview pages
click below for the cover ( Safe for work) ( but for over 18 years old only)
I finally got the copy of the June 2008 issue of Playboy Magazine Philippines and I like to thank Playboy Philippines for appreciating my magazine review and opinions here in my blog and for a great encounter with them, I got a complimentary copy and it save me for not worrying too much that the magazine will be sold out during the end of June.
so here's my review.
For June 2008 issue I was surprise to see a known model and that's Sachie Sanders, been aware of her from her previous magazine pose in other magazines and this new issue marks it first real developments on the cover and also on how it attracts people. The roster of contributing writers of this issue is very young and i don't know what happened to those Palanca award winning writers, but for me its okay, because all of their articles are good for adults and young adults like me :) I know everyone here are not that interested to read more about my review on the articles, but all I can say is that I learned something in reading their feature about "the End of newspapers", which is a little related for what I'm doing, - (writing) and blogging, but hope next issue they can feature about blogging and also lots of online stuff that rivals the traditional media.
Okay, on the first few pages, I just got a preview on Kim Kardashian and I know everyone is familiar of her, I know after that sex tape scandal went online and also saw her news on TV, and then my girlfriend likes her so much and now a big fan and watches the family reality show of Kim. The only weird item here is that they didn't mentioned Kim Kardashian's appearance on the magazine, but for buyers and readers it will be a surprised for them, but for fans of Kim, hmm hope you guys/gals got a luck in finding out that she is in this issue, i wont mention any details, but grab the copy right away.
And for the playmate of the month - Sachie Sanders, its a little bit disturbing that I found out that she's pregnant and by a blog comment here, I just can't take out of my eyes staring at her tummy, hmmm is she really pregnant? is yes..then lets congratulate her. I don't have any complains about the pictures, it is nicely done and sexy. On the center fold, it was okay, but they should write more about her on the data sheet, on previous Playboys, they post images of the model during their baby, kids, teens and adult years. I don't know if they will do the same in the future, its kinda cute to see their old pics and to know that each model who posses are successful in their careers.
oh wait! i just forgot to post this, finally they got an email box and address for the editors, I was waiting for this and surprised that they already got a letter section from readers and fans, I was wondering if the email is posted on the 2nd issue, which I might missed to read it.. will check it out later, I'm now starting not to write to their editors, because I just got them to write me via my blog hahaha, but its nice to know that they are very nice and hey! I know someone who now works there. ( will post about that on my July 2008 issue)
They got also a news for events and a photo coverage of people who went to their parties and conferences, I know it was a very private party for partners and advertisers of the magazine, but it will be cool if they created a party for readers and fans, and also a meet and greet session with the models, I know that FHM is the main mover in meet and greet, but everyone can do that.. di ba? let's hope that they will have it done soon.
The comic strips are really back and I love the artwork of Dean Yeagle, i just found out his name via my boss who is a CEO of Glass House Graphics, which I saw an artbook of Dean Yeagle and there I appreciated more of his comic arts and female illustrations, and didn't pay attention for all of this years that this comic artists is a very important ingredients for the magazine. The artworks are funny and sexy, but for our local magazine, hope we can post even one or two comic strips done by Filipino artist, it can be a same quality as Dean Yeagle, but lets hope to see an original art done by pinoys, maybe this will reach the global print and make another brother proud.
There's this interview with Steve Jobs, its a 1985 reprint interview and its funny on how he manage a big company. and also a great interview with our very own, Chavit Singson, I just read here that he has a pet tiger, wow!!!!!!!! hope I can come and grab a tiger cub from him ahhahaa.
at the end of the magazine, there are images of the Playmates of the year, its weird that the people still questions the graphic content and the nudity of the models, but the foreign models are showing lots of skin and our local models are less nude, the magazine is still careful on what they post and you know how contreversial it is here, but because of Sachie Sanders, she already started to heat up the whole title of the magazine, and no more non-nude models in the coming issue. its a big gamble again for them.. and for those who thought that the Playboy Mag Philiippines folded after issue 2, then look it right here.. they are still here and still firing up their canons.
Price of the magazine is P199.
next time..I hope it will be lowered...deal? or no deal ?

I went there to submit something and then I roam around and checked what they have for this year. So I saw venue providers like Le Pavillion and Esplanade, there I checked and inquired for the venue rental and there it enlightend me right away after hearing false rumors on the price range of the venue, glad that they were there and they explained to me what I can have if I rented their venue. Le Pavillion is nice for concert venue or expo, while Esplanade is a great venue for corporate and business, which they invited me to attend a car show on that week to check it out, since the Esplanade offers the indoor and outdoor venue, but they are rented at a different package, thought that it is offered as one venue, but it's not.
Also got in touch with events organizer there I got their info and also they invited me to get this stand up comedy workshop and also some activities they offer, it is a great offering, but since Im busy, I'll try to check it out soon.
hope they can have more next year. it was a great experience too and got contacts for my upcoming projects.

are you familiar with these photos? ^__^
It was a fun meeting with the rest of the gang of LEGO Philippine Bricksters, a group/fan/collectors community for LEGO and it was fun to meet with them and its great to see some LEGO toys on top of our table. We were having a meeting for the upcoming Toy Con 2008 and because that I slightly spearheaded the meeting for our group, thus making a short sideline for our event for the Toy Con and after the meeting I went straight to my meeting with the team of Toy Con.
more photos, stories and videos below
Also I explained to them the set up and my visuals for the booth, as I use Google Sketch up in layouting the booth size and dimension based on the official size we given to the group. Then Arlene and Gabriel helped around creating a LEGO model of the booth by counting each dot as one feet, so there we got an on the spot LEGO-like 3D printer ahahahah. It was a great moment to see how we plan the event and also for the grand launching of the LEGO Philippine Brickster as the official LEGO group in the Philippines.
the official distributor of LEGO is planning to have a LEGO city set up, LEGO toy trade show, and a play area for kids, and also they will sell bargained and discounted price of some LEGO toys, this is the first time they will join the event, that's why I manage the set up with the help of the group.
via multiply for the photos.
