Going behind the scenes of a regional cosplay competition, Animax’s new half hour show offers viewers a sneak peek into the lives and passion of young cosplayers who relentlessly pursue their hobby of portraying their favourite anime, manga, and video game characters in person.

To become the fictional persona, cosplayers must learn the nuances of costume design, makeup, voice modulation and acting. This colorful art is a means to bring passionate youths closer to one another, and their very own passport to the fantastical world of anime and manga.

The unique show features as principal narrator, world-renowned Japanese cosplayer Kaname who analyses, comments and demystifies the world of cosplay which goes far beyond just the theatricality.

Kaname was most recently a judge at the Anime Festival Asia Regional Cosplay Championship. He was also the Japanese cosplay representative at Anime Expo 2009 in the US and International Game Costume Festival 2009 in Korea, and is best known for his cosplay of characters and Cloud Strife and Kurosaki Ichigo from anime shows Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children and Bleach.
