Finally! I dine in at Vikings luxury buffet in SM City North EDSA, Its my first time to try the Vikings there and I heard that the food are over flowing here in their 3rd branch of Vikings here in Manila. My wife introduced me to this luxury buffet mania and we always go to Vikings in SM MOA to dine there for lunch and celebrate special occasions.
Dining in a buffet resto is like a war zone, you're going to get your own food in a large buffet set up and go elbow to elbow with hungry buffet fans. There are times that I always complain that in SM MOA branch they don't refill their caldereta food, I like their kambing na caldereta and I go to Vikings just to eat my fave food.
When Vikings in SM City North EDSA opened, many people in the north side of Manila are happy because the luxury buffet comes near to them. I now cry here at the South, because the Vikings in the north is much better than we have here in the south, I heard the east side of Vikings is good too.
So I'm in Vikings, I ate there for free, since the lunch for the press, media and bloggers for an event is in Vikings, I travel from south to north just to try the Vikings of the north. I'm not disappointed... but next time I'll try it as a paying customer.
I remember the last time I blog the opening of Vikings in SM City North EDSA is that they don't accept yet reservations, they are on first come first serve basis only. You can see the number counter above at the entrance and they are now calling customer #54. I sent a message to their Facebook page to ask if they accept reservations, I'll post it here their answer soon.
Okay they replied and here's their message
"Hello Mr. Coladilla,

up, our reservation for April 21-23 and April 25 lunch time is already

on the other table is Michelle Estranero, then we were later joined by blogger Rhea Tan and SM Supermall's digital team Jesse and Mykel.
Here's a view of their dining area. fast food style.
with long table that can fit 8 people per table row
I like the idea that the buffet is located at the side of the restaurant, I like this set up and not like the set up of their SM MOA branch that the buffet is located at the near middle of the resto. So you have to go around the area just to look for your fave cuisine.
Each cuisine are divided accordingly. From left to right, you'll find the roasted beef, then beverages, then Japanese, Chinese,Italian, Filipino food and at the middle is for the desserts.
Balls swimming in different spices.. I saw this in HK and I haven't tried it, I'm glad that they refill this when i arrived.
More buffet pics...
Some ingredients for your salad
the chandelier here in Vikings is eye catchy... everything glows and powers up your appetite
Fresh catch sea creatures heheheh.
The cooking station can be viewed here in a see through glass display
Toastmasters are every where..
Lots of baked oysters... oh wow!!! my wife will love this!
Dimsums and dumplings are here waiting for you
The Japanese section is the most visited buffet...oh wow!!! I raided the salmon sushi here
See ?? Salmon sushi set ..oh wow!!
In our last visit in Vikings SM MOA, I didn't know that they added sago't gulaman drinks, I just discovered it after I finished my meal. But here in the north branch, I got a chance to drink it..oh wow!!! heavenly awesome! sago is small and its easy to melt it in my mouth.
Okonomiyaki alert!!! w00t!!! I'm surprised to see that they have Okonomiyaki here in Vikings! o wow!!! the best Vikings branch ever!!!
The roasted meat section is like a food gallery.. here's a lechon belly waiting for its next master.
Baby rack ribs and roast turkey.. oh lalala! I just learned that in dining in a buffet, you have to taste first the most expensive food, here in a buffet set up, its just for everyone by paying one fee.
Lamb leg... for me its like the holy grail of all roasted meat.
US Beef Tenderloin...looks lonely. but the taste is yummylicious!
you can ask for the Vikings food team to help you cut a piece for you or have it grilled or heated for you.
Here's one of my favorite in Vikings... the dessert buffet
My favorite here is the unlimited frozen yohgurt.
Here's my plate 1
Just tried the sushi section
Jesse's plate...wow!!
Michelle's dessert plate
My 2nd plate..... yeah more sushis + tempura
And here's my frozen yohgurt...oh yummy!!
I'm still amazed that the Vikings here in the north is much bigger, much organized, there's no food warzone with people, its spacious and lots of food in the long buffet table. I really like it here, I hope they can do the same in their SM MOA branch, they can expand the buffet section and also seats. I'll get my chance soon to dine here and reserve the best date for my Vikings luxury buffet experience.
