It’s another year of World Food Expo here in Manila and this is the biggest food and beverage event in the Philippines celebrating their 13th year this 2013. The next WOFEX is on July 31-Aug 3, 2013 that will happen in two big venues for trade show and market – yup, that’s not a typo..you read it right… WOFEX 2013 will take place in SMX in SM Mall of Asia and also in World Trade Center. The trade show with 400 exhibitors usually take place in World Trade Center, while the seminar – WOFEX Market, WOFEX University and Philippine Culinary Cup will take place in SMX Convention Center.
I’m sure you are interested in attending the event even if its happening at the two venues at the same time, the organizers arranged a FREE shuttle bus going to the other venue if you are in the other side of WOFEX 2013, just check the shuttle schedule when you arrive there at the event.
Entrance fee for this event..per day is PHP 150. – one ticket can accommodate a visit to two venues in one day.
The 4 day event is jampacked with lots of trade shows and also activities for visitors, the most highlighted part of the WOFEX 2013 is the seminar – called WOFEX University, and the new highlight is the seminar and demo of the 4 P’s of Divas of Pastry, some say they are the Queen of Pastry here in the Philippines – dubbed as the concert of P’s or food concert of the pastry divas – namely Chef Penk Ching, Chef Peachy Urban, Chef Pixie Sevilla-Santos, Chef Jackie Ang-Po – for the first time in Philippine culinary history, the 4 pastry chef will stand on stage doing a food demo and talks about baking and wedding cakes. They will also be teaching on making pastry with Filipino twist, they told us that bakers can apply the skills and knowledge of foreign baking using our local ingredients and also having a Filipino flavored pastry. The demo of the pasty divas will be on August 1 @ 11am. Price of the seminar is at Php 500 only.
Another highlight is that Top Chef Master Chef Rick Moonen will be here in Manila, he's a world-renowned King of American Seafood, he will showcase his culinary expertise using our local seafood. He is the Executive Chef and Owner of RM Seafood and RX Boiler Room Restaurants in Las Vega, he's a celebrated chef and a champion of sustainability. His talk and demo will be on Aug 1 at 2:30pm, seminar module price is at Php 1000.

There’s also the Philippine Culinary Cup 2013, on its 4th year and endorsed by the World Association of Chefs Societies, they opened up a large category catering to different food and cooking style, the competition is also open to foreign chefs and this is a big challenge to our local chefs to stand who’s the best of the best! The contest and live cooking session and judging will take place in SMX Convention Center from 10am-7pm. Grand prize of the contest is a trip to America and also around Asia.
