Style Weekend, the fashion and lifestyle magazine from Manila Bulletin is celebrating their 9th year anniversary and inline with their celebration, they launched their 5th year edition of their “Women Who Wow”, its a special feature that comes right in time for March’s International Women’s Month. Style Weekend featured 8 women from different fields that shows women empowerment through their work, body, and advocacies.
The event was held at the Champagne Room of Manila Hotel. Thanks to the EIC of Style Weekend, Ms Liza Ilarde for inviting us and also to our PBNET co-founder Raffy Pekson.
On the cover of Style Weekend is Maine Mendoza, TV actress and well known as Yaya Dub from the Eat Bulaga’s Kalye Serye on TV. She became so popular when the live TV rom-com with Alden Richard was easily captured and absorb by the hearts of Filipinos. Maine is seen everywhere from, tv, print and digital, her brand endorsement is coming from left to right and its like a never ending feature of Maine in different formats, as of now Maine is leveling up already, from a Youtube sensation and up to a girl cover of a glossy mag. Her appearance to the lives of pinoy really boost up the girl power movement.
The Maine Mendoza cover of Style Weekend came out as a free copy of Manila Bulletin’s March 11, 2016 issue, but if you want to grab a copy of the glossy magazine, you can buy it at PHP25 in bookstores and magazine stands nationwide. According the EIC Liza Ilarde, the magazine comes out with two different covers of Maine that was photographed by pro fashion photographer Shaira Luna.

Each Women Who Wow were given PHP 50,000 cash and that will be donated to their selected beneficiary
Cristalle Belo donated the cash to Move.Org Foundation
The other Women Who Wow were not around and unavailable to attend, but they do have a representative to receive and hand over the donation to their selected beneficiary.
Pie Alvarez donated the cash to Mano Amiga Academy Inc.
Rita Nazareno donated the cash to Arnold Janssen Alternative Learning
Main Mendoza was not around, but the EIC accepted the donation for the Aldb Libraries foundation.
