Azrael : "my spider sense tingling..this is a very cold dessert"
Last May 21, 2008. I was invited for a Halo Halo Special Treat in Chowking, Global City, and thanks to Yehey.com and Chowking for inviting me and some bloggers to sit down with them and talk about the success and contribution of Chowking in the Philippines and to our tummy. I rode the busy highway of EDSA and landed in Global City, I got to the venue 30 minutes late and because that I missed the first 30 minutes of the panel talks, I saw our local bloggers listening to the lecture talk of some managers of the fast food store.
I just learned that Chowking started on 1985 and then was acquired by Jollibee Foods Corporation on 2000, and after that they started to grow fast and doubled their service to Pinoys and was dubbed to be the premiere Oriental fast food or quicke meal. Where else can you get a food or meal on the go? we think other fast food establishment, but when you think of rice, dimsums and noodles, Chowking pops out from your head, and because that the food is freshly cooked as you ordered, you will be satisfied by their fast service and also taste quality under their menu. Last year Chowking earned 10.6 Billion pesos, (I'm not sure but will check it) and it includes the sales of all branches in the Philippines and abroad.
While listening to the talk, we are already enjoying eating lots of dimsums and noodles, the lady serving the meal placed a lot of pancit canton in my plate, were I laugh and joke that this lady will kill me for giving me lots of food, but then the lady waitress said that here in Chowking all of our food is healthy.. and I say..wow! really.. then give me those siomais and shanghais.
after the meal, our grand finale of the hour is the Chowking Halo Halo Special Treat.
and its a big serving and I was surprised that they serve and deliver those to customers who order it for dine in or take home. I told a story with my fellow table mates and about my search for the best Halo Halo in the land, I discuss them with my adventure and I shared to them that Chowking's Halo Halo is number 2 for me, well if you want to know who's number 1, you can ask me personally ehehehe.
They gave away lots of goodies during the trivia contest and again all of us went home with a smiley face and a heavy tummy. After the event, I was tempted to eat siomai in Chowking Megamall aahaha, but then there will be a next time so I'll save this craving for my next visit.
