Governed by the theory of “Equivalent Exchange,” Alchemy says that in order to gain anything, something of equal value must be given. Anime lovers all over the country will definitely exchange anything for the Philippine free TV premiere of the most anticipated anime of 2009, Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood, hitting ANIMEGA viewers starting May 22 on TV5.
Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood, the second TV adaptation of Hiromu Arakawa's dark fantasy manga, follows two brothers who try to use the power of alchemy to resurrect their deceased mother. With tragic consequences, the process fails and as a toll for using their taboo knowledge of alchemy, the older brother, Edward Elric loses his left leg while his younger brother, Alphonse Elric, loses his entire body. Now the two undertake a quest to restore their bodies by seeking the mythical Philosopher's Stone, even if it means using Edward’s knowledge on alchemy for the military, and finding out bitter truths and tragedies along the journey.
Hailed as no. 1 most popular anime of all time in two Japan TV web polls, Fullmetal Alchemist received multiple awards and recognitions that brought the anime to its critical fame and success in Japan, North America, and across Southeast Asia. It won five awards in the American Anime Awards in 2007, and bagged the "Animation of the Year" award (for Fullmetal Alchemist: The Conqueror of Shambala), “Best original story” and "Best music” in the Tokyo Anime Fair.
Be one of the first to witness the debut of 2009’s biggest anime title, Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood, airing every Friday starting May 22 at 7:30 p.m., only on your ultimate ANIMEGA authority, TV5.
