It's my 2nd time to watch a live sports event on HD and the boxing match of Manny Pacquiao vs. Antonio Margarito for the WBC Superwelterweight championship fight is my latest HDtv experience, it was awesome to watch it live on an HD TV and broadcast through Sky Cable HD and this is my best and exciting viewing of a global sports event. The viewing event was held in Ayala Alabang Country Club and Sky Cable installed 16 Sony 42-inch LCD/LED TV, a perfect tv partner for watching live HD feed. (more story below)
Watching the match on HD is so clear as real, and the good part in watching in a pay per view is that there are no commercials breaks or intermissions, we saw everything live and even the rehearsal of our pinoy commentators were broadcasted live and it was so funny to see the bloopers behind the scene. Some footages were shown that will never be available in local tv or cable, and Sky Cable HD delivers straight HD feed from the main station aired in Cowboys Stadium in Arlington, Texas, USA.
In having a HDtv subscription you need to have first a HD tv, then a Sky Cable HD box that will receive direct HD signals and this will enable your HD TV to have high resolution image and sound quality. If you watch it in HD, you will feel that you are there, like the boxing match, I felt so tense and excited when I see two boxers throw punches and seeing Pacquiao give a fast punches and moves are all seen so smooth and clear on HD TV.
for subscription, Sky Cable offers it for an additional P199 monthly rental fee for the HD box ( I think there's a lock out for 24 months) for existing Sky Cable subscribers. And for new subscribers, just pay P1,999 installation fee, thats a one time fee and plus P199 per month for 24 months to get the HD subscription.
They have movies, shows live pay per view and documentary shows that are now available in HDtv.
