Last May 17, 2011 RIIR Desinger Line had ups the fashion ante with the unveiling of their latest collection. It's so inspiring to know that the internationally acclaimed Filipino couture designer Oliver Tolentino collaborated with this event. The collections aims to pay tribute for the remarkable mother in the Philippines through the exquisite splash color of Oliver Tolentino designs. Describes MaKULAY as a "ma" for mother and "kulay" for the color. (More story below)
Tolentino's vibrant line-up of fashionable handbags with a bright and warm tones combined. The limited edition of designer pieeces showcase the ingenuity of Tolentino and the enduring craftmanship of women from the Payatas community who meticulously weaved the fabrics for the whole collecion.
Tolenino said that he wanted to the women of Payatas making the bags and work with beautiful, cheerful colors and see the possibilities of a vibrant color of their future. His inspiration was joy and hope.
Gracefully poised muses decked in newspaper dresses were the canvasses for the hues highlighted in the RIIR and Tolentino MaKULAY exhibit attended by the stalwarts.
